"This was our second job with Outdoor Xcapes. 1st one in 2011 with Bret as our Salesman. Went fairly smoother with only a few glitches. This job consisted of a seat wall with small patio, step pads and artificial turf with Steve as our Salesman. Steve was very nice and eager to please during the bidding process. Very responsive to phone calls during the job. However, as the job progressed It was apparent that while it was important to Steve that the job was done correctly there was no give or take on money. At a Home Show an Outdoor Xscapes representative (not Steve) told us that repeat customers would get a discount. Steve would not honor that discount until it was to his advantage. There was a hole in their work schedule and they needed a job to fill it. At that point a discount was offered. The tree we wanted was 20% off, Steve would not give or share the shavings. Didn’t seem like there was any interest in building any relationship for return business or referrals. Crew did a great job including clean-up. Jesse, the foreman, was pleasant to work with. However, he was the only one who spoke English and stayed on the job for only a short time. Any communication had to be done by phone to Steve who would contact Jesse. It was a little cumbersome to communicate. We are very happy with the concrete seat wall and step pads. There were a few hiccups during the process, nothing major. The turf was not acceptable. It had discoloration, lines about every 10” and two visible seams. Megan was our contact for warranty issues. She was very responsive and easy to work with. I had to work directly with the representative for the turf which was Synthetic Grass. It took six weeks but the grass was replaced and installed by Outdoor Xscapes at no cost to us. Adam was in charge of the installation and worked with us to make it right. In hind sight my husband and I were too complacent in going with the same landscaping company. We assumed they would treat us right because we were a return customer. Because of this we didn’t get any other bids and when it became obvious that there was no loyalty to a return customer felt it was too late in the process to start over. It was a mistake. Outdoor Xcapes as a whole, is a good company and gets the job done quickly. Be sure to negotiate payment terms and dollars up front."

Treeland Nurseries found its start as a hobby in the backyard of its founders, Ed and Dorothy Waltemeyer. In the late 1950’s, Ed and Dorothy turned their interest of growing trees from seed into the thriving family-owned and operated business that it is today. Since opening their first retail location on Southern just off of Country Club in 1969, Treeland has moved their primary location to Country Club Drive just off of Guadalupe Road and has expanded to service the wholesale nursery market with the addition of over 100 acres of growing facilities in the Chandler and Gilbert area. Each of their three locations can be easily identified by the iconic “W” palm trees, created in recognition of the Waltemeyer name. Now run by Ed and Dorothy’s four children with the third generation working there as well, Treeland Nurseries has grown to be one of Arizona's largest wholesale and retail nursery operations.

They would not take the tree back, just kept arguing how the tree is not dead, to just keep it. This is very disappointing and a contradiction to what they said when they were selling the tress. When I called them out on it, he wanted to know who told me that. BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY."

"I wanted the best quality, largest trees. I didn't get them at Moon Valley Nursery. I was told by the phone salesman that I was getting 4-6 foot trees, a red grapefruit and a Mandarin orange tree. I was told that planting was free. They advised I needed a hole twice as large as the root ball, I needed the soil tested, fertilizer added and if my soil was "wrong" some additive. That would all be included in the planting. When the "contract" came by email the trees were $275.00 each and there was a $499.00 "get to the job" charge. I'm in Yuma, they're in Phoenix. Well, they are going to do it right and they're big trees so I paid the money, $1049.00 for 2 trees. They came to plant 6 weeks later. Dug a hole just large enough to get the root ball in, sprinkled some type of granular stuff in the hole, put the tree in, backfilled and watered. 15 minutes. The lead man couldn't speak english enough to understand after 5 attempts to figure which tree went where. The grapefruit tree is 45" at the tallest branch, the Orange tree is 38". 4-6 foot trees? Both trees came with "sale" tags on them for $199.00. The grapefruit has a 4" long new wound where a branch has been broken off. I called and talked to a salesman who explained how I misunderstood everything. He explained that the $199 price was for "cash and carry" not "delivery", even though I paid almost $500 for delivery. But, if I was unhappy he'd have a customer service rep call me. It's now almost 4 weeks and no call. I received an email from Customer Service asking how much I loved my new trees. I replied with the information above and pictures of the trees and broken branch. As of today I've not heard back from her either. I would never buy anything from this company. They have misrepresented their product and failed to make any effort to correct their faulty methods."
