"I called for a quote to trim three palm trees and clean the weeds from my yard. They were available for an estimate same day, and showed up exactly when they said there were going to. They gave me a very reasonable price for the work I needed (after I received some other quotes that were less reasonable) , and were actually able to complete the job the same day as well! They paid wonderful attention to detail and exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be calling Yazmin Landscaping again and again."

"Turned a bad experience into a good one. The company missed the initial service day and time, but made it out promptly the next day and did a fantastic job at a much reduced rate. Everything looks great and was handled very professionally."

"A&M began caring for our yard nearly 20 years ago. They are by far the best I’ve ever experienced. They are very knowledgeable at keeping grass and trees healthy as well as keeping the whole yard looking beautiful year round. They also take care of the sprinkler and drip system, including all leaks. A & M provides excellent service, is reliable and very fairly priced."

"I actually live in Denver. While visiting Phoenix I stumbled across his "Buy It Now" offer for 300 sq ft of artificial grass. This is what I have desperately been looking for in Denver. Don was able to connect me to a Denver company who sells his project to help plan my project. I appreciate him taking the time to work with me, especially when he would not be the person implementing the project. Phoenix members, no one in Denver can touch Don's prices....you are lucky there is so much competition down there!"

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

If you have a lot of tree roots in your yard or have experienced issues in the past, you should use tree root killer every six months to prevent roots from infiltrating your pipes. If you have an active invasion and aren’t seeing results, check the instructions on the bottle to see how often you can use it in a short period of mine.

Ultimately, pulling weeds vs. spraying them depends on what’s happening in your yard and your personal preferences. Manual weed removal doesn’t introduce any chemicals into your landscape, targets specific problematic plants, produces immediate results, can be free if you go the DIY route, and is inexpensive with a weed service if you only have a handful of weeds. On the other hand, spraying is often preferable for severe weed infestations and situations involving difficult-to-pull weeds because it treats multiple weeds at once, is usually more effective long-term, is less time-consuming, and costs less when done by a pro.

The hydroseed mix—known as a slurry—helps grass seed take root in many ways. Water combines with the mulch, allowing the grass seed to stay moist while grounded in the soil. The extra fertilizer then provides the boost the seed needs to flourish. In just a few weeks, you'll be ready to break out the lawnmower again.

It’s not legal to intentionally damage a neighbor’s tree. Even if the roots of a tree encroach into your yard, if you damage or kill a tree that belongs to your neighbor, you can be held liable for the damage in most cases. Since herbicides can spread through the tree, causing damage to the whole tree and not just the roots that are on your side of the property line, you shouldn’t poison your neighbor’s tree. The other downside to this method is that if the tree dies, it can fall onto your property and cause more damage, so herbicides are best avoided in this circumstance.

There are organic herbicide options that will kill grass but not flowers, including white vinegar or a dish soap solution. Commercial selective herbicides can also target grass over other plants, but read the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garden. Herbicides that kill grass but not flowers usually include ingredients like clethodim and sethoxydim. Otherwise, your best bet will be to weed by hand.
