"The yard care was thorough and efficient. All weeds gone and the whole yard, back and front yard was sprayed as preventive maintenance. They were careful not to spray existing plants with weed spray. Fig sapling was removed per my request and it looks like a tree and not a bush Light trimming was done on the other plants. They were respectful, polite, a trustworthy company I am happy to work with."

"We had a 60+ ft, multi trunk ficus that was planted over 30 years ago, it had become a lot of work for us to keep the leave cleaned up at our age. Plus it appeared to have a disease starting. I left a request on Angie’s list around 4am, heard back from Francisco by 4:30a and he could come by to give us a quote around 6:45. He was here right on time, explain their process and gave us a reasonable quote. Also saying he could do it that very day. Within the hour he had his crew here, started the cutting of branches , carefully by hand and ropes bring them down without damage to anything around (which was a concern at first since it was 6-7’ from our house and dining room windows.) It took about 7 hours, to bring it down to the stump, then they came back first thing the next morning and ground down the stump. You can’t even tell there was ever a tree there. Excellent work, very impressive customer service."

They kindly remove some branches I had back there from another tree trim without even asking. When they were done, I mentioned wanting the giant tree in the front trimmed and they were able to squeeze that in for a reasonable price. I would def hire them again. "

"Texas Ebony = A+ for entire job (front yard). Ended up with a couple of broken ornaments (for scaring birds away) but other than that their skill and bravery for even climbing inside this super thorny tree was very good. I don’t know a lot about tree pruning and was a little worried about how it looked like a big hole/space in the middle of the tree when they were done. But it has filled nicely since. Chinese Elm (back yard) = B+. This tree was originally pruned by my regular landscapers, not expert arborists like Chip Off Old Block, so it was a little weird looking in the first place: Lop-sided - partially due to my backyard neighbors’ oleander which fights for territory with it; few branches in the center. This outfit couldn’t make branches appear where there weren’t any of course, but it REALLY looked bare in the center when they were done. I’m not sure about this process of clearing off the inside of each branch (closest to the trunk) and leaving a lot of leaves and smaller branches at the end of each large branch. It seemes to me that makes it heavy on the ends. But I figured they knew what they were doing. (Plus, the front yard tree filled in well.) I also figured they did it that way so wind could pass through easier or something. But last week (before the big storm yesterday and today) there was some wind gusts in my neighborhood and a big branch did, in fact, break and fall. I texted my contact with the company, sent pics and my questions about the process (just need to be educated I guess), but haven’t had a response. We also had a lemon tree taken out due to disease. Originally they said it would be removed, roots, ball and all. They worked two different days on it but could not get the root ball out. I have to say, this crew did not clean up on this project as well as the others on the other projects. They were recommended by my landscape contractor and overall, I was satisfied. I’d use them again and would recommend them."

"The person who contacted me from J&J Lawncare was possibly the worst landscaper I've ever worked with. His phone couldn't receive pictures through the Angi app, he had no ability to be paid in anything other than cash, he was hours late, and he consistently ignored my questions/requests. Most importantly, he tried to pretend that I agreed to have him only spray when the job description clearly says weed removal, and then tried to charge me $200 for 40min of spraying and didn't remove a single weed. I agreed to remove weeds and spray, and then he tried to give me a sob story about living an hour away. I ended removing the weeds myself (after he sprayed herbicide). This person is clearly is lazy."
