Small business with 1 employee, "Office in Home" type, but with abilities to take care of large shade sail or shade panel or awning sewing projects. The business is set up to make products out of heavyweight and durable fabrics as Commercial 95, Comtex or Awning/Marine Sunbrella. Often we work as a subcontractor of a shade sail project. We ask for 50% deposit and rest of it should be paid at delivery or pick up time.

"Tatiana did an excellent job replacing our fabric awnings. Quick turnaround, beautiful work. Reasonable prices. You won't be disappointed."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

When contacting an awning installer, there are a few questions to ask to make sure the process runs smoothly. To have the awning of your dreams installed to shade you from the sun, ask your installer some of these questions to get you started:

  • How long will this project take to complete?

  • Do you have insurance coverage?

  • Will I need a building permit for this project? Who is responsible for obtaining this?

  • Do you have references from previous clients?

  • Do you have photos of previously completed projects?

Costs depend on material type, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or gutters.

Awnings can add value by boosting your home’s curb appeal. An awning with a metal roof may attract potential buyers seeking trendy design materials.

Acrylic, polyester, and vinyl are common options. Choose based on durability, UV resistance, and style.

If you're handy, it might be worth trying to install retractable awnings yourself. Just keep in mind that motorized retractable awnings require much more know-how, and the risk of something costly going wrong (such as damaging your new awnings) is higher.

Mechanical awnings should be easy to install for the average person with some handyman skills.
