"We?ve used him twice now for multiple small projects around our house and have been really impressed both times. On the first visit he repaired some drywall damage and fixed a bathroom faucet that had been leaking for months. The second time he installed a new ceiling fan, adjusted a sticking exterior door, and knocked out a few smaller fixes we?d been putting off. Everything was done professionally, communication was great, and the pricing was fair. Definitely someone we?ll continue calling for handyman work."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

With a regular pool, the water is contained by visible walls that are higher than the water level. An infinity pool has one or more walls that are right at the waterline so they're not truly visible. For an invisible look, the lower wall is often made of glass or clear acrylic. The water laps over the lower edge and into a catch basin below where it gets pumped back into the pool.

If you put too much baking soda in your pool, your alkalinity will rise. That means you’ll need to take steps to lower your alkalinity. You can either add more water (which will require more chemicals because they’ll be diluted), wait for the alkalinity to lower naturally, or use a chemical like muriatic acid to lower it.

Yes, some pool designs do not have coping. However, most designers will extend the decking beyond the water's edge to keep water inside the pool and lower potential pool repair costs in the future. A pool without coping may look more seamless but can raise the risk of slipping and make it trickier to get in and out of the pool.

Yes, a pool with a heater will lose more water. The heater warms the water, which increases the rate of evaporation. To minimize water loss from evaporation, you can install a pool cover and keep the pool covered when it is not in use.

Most of the time, though there may be some code variations on the local level, a water source like a pool requires a GFCI breaker. These breakers detect electrical leaks of 5 mA or more and trip the breaker. However, the size of the pool and motor type determine the exact GFCI needs. A GFCI outlet with a reset button may be enough for an aboveground pool with a small motor or pump. Consult a pool electrician to determine the appropriate installation and protection measures needed for your pool.
