I contacted him immediately after he left to let him know the heating unit was still not working. Lack of knowledge and lack of customer service. The next contractor fixed it right away.
Response from DIY Pools N Spas
"Kenneth had me do a repair. Unfortunatley it needed more parts which were no longer made any more. I told Kenneth that I could take back the part that I installed and get him an estimate for a new heater. He thought there was a magic warehouse somewhere that had a bunch of parts that were not manufactured anymore. After a second attempt to take back the part so he would not have to pay for something that was not fixed, and couldnt be fixed. He still said he wanted to find this magic warehouse with parts not made anymore. He paid me I went on my way. Went to supplier that was a couple miles away to get parts for next job across town, while at this time throwing away Kenneths old part.On my way to next job I get a call from Kenneth frantic. After telling his wife about the outcome of the repair I can just imagine how that conversation went. LOL She had told him to take back the part and get back some of the $$$ he had given me on Credit Card. I told him at tthis point it was to late I couldnt do that because I disposed of his old part already and was headed accross town to next job. He then proceeded to dispute the Credit Card transaction as well as started arbitration with Homeadvisor and me. HomeAdvisor contacted me got my side of the story and then saw no need for arbitration. They found I had done nothing wrong and that he should of let me take the part back and get refund to begin with. And then the Credit Card company ended up seeing it the same way. I am sorry this happened to Kenneth, I really wish he would of listened to me to begin with. Anthony McGee."

Pool and spa heater works but does not communicate with our panel now, so we have to go to the heater to activate it. Waiting for him to make this right.
Response from DIY Pools N Spas
"Kinda thinking you are talking about Amy heater I installed. That was the only heater that was having issues as of recent. I explained to the other companies owner that the motherboard on the panel was the issue and needed replacing. I was told by her husband that he was going to talk to her and get back to me. I am still waiting to hear back from Amy in regard to replacing it and never did. I am still available whenever you are ready to move forward. Call me, I am still more than happy to help you with the repair needed. Anthony McGee."

Anthony came out and assessed the situation, gave me his recommendation and sent me an invoice for the work. I thought on what I wanted to do, and decided to take his advice on replacing my outdated pool equipment. At this point my pool was completely green because my pump burnt up while we were on vacation. He came after the weekend and in one day had a new system in place and had added chemicals. After a couple days he came back and added more chemicals and we were finally able to get the water cleared up. I was having a hard time programming the new pump and he came the day after I mentioned it to him. Went over everything with me again and I finally figured it out. Very knowledgeable and professional. If you need anything pool related, give him a call !!!

We hired this company to start up our newly replastered pool. It was quite expensive. He takes your money and then lies about showing up. He showed up 2 times of many he was supposed to come. We have a camera and he would never show up. Eventually our brand new replastered pool turned green and got black algae. He cost us a lot of money. Oh and he also wants money up front too, so he can collect and not show up. You know, in case you catch him not coming, he already has your money.
Response from DIY Pools N Spas
"Jacqueline i'm sorry you and your husband had problems maintaining your pool. But this had nothing to do with the start-up I did for you guys. I was only hired to do new plaster chemical start up NOT weekly service. Which was back in August of 2019 last year, which means now being end of March 2020, 7 months have gone by since you decided you guys would take care of your own weekly maintenance. I'm not sure what you meant by me not showing up & just taking your $$$. I completed you chemical start up as well as helped you out with getting new filter cartridges installed. To say I just took your $$$ and disappeared is not true. I understand this is probably coming from frustration do to failing at maintaining the pool and ending up with black algae. I am always here if you need help and would still be happy to help maintain the pool weekly. (916) 804-8555 Sincerely, Anthony McGee"

They did not do a good job of cleaning my pool. After 15 minutes of work the pool service guy left. I called the manager and asked why he left a bunch of leaves at the bottom of my pool and he said that he only gives his service men 15 minutes to do the job. If the pool doesn't get cleaned than too bad.
Response from DIY Pools N Spas
"I tried to explain to Grant that this time of year all the pool get bad with leaves falling and some much worse than his. It?s just part of November and December. In order for my service tech to be able to touch all of them in a week he can only spend 15-20 min max at each one. Grant wasn't able to understand what I was trying to tell him. He then said I paid for a service and expect it. He then tried getting a replacement service on HomeAdvisor asking for bi-weekly service so he could pay less but the pool service e would be expected to do the same amount of work cause Grant is out of state the next few months no one is there to pick up the"

Anthony did a great job installing a pool railing in my pool. Price was very reasonable. He was helpful in helping me choose the proper railing and just where it should be mounted. I love it and am using my pool a lot more

One visit to estimate and one visit to do the work. After several hundred dollars, the salt system I purchased seems NOT to work and I cannot get a call back despite several text promises to show up? Disappointing to say the least...
Response from DIY Pools N Spas
"Ron called me and said HE PURCHASED salt system. I told him I can?t warranty the system he purchased that he would have to go to the manufacturer to warranty their product and that I can only warranty my work. After he called me I sent him a message letting him know this again. For some reason Ron did not understand that the system he purchased was defective and was not my responsibility."

Antony was very professional, but had a problem with his equipment. After going over my prospects. Which were about 13 of them. Some said they had their own equipment, others said they would install only variable speed pumps (I bought my own pump). Some said they would install only contractor lic board rule it OK. No body seem to want to install my new Pump, Bouster Pump, Heat pump, and my new pool sweeper. It still is not done yet but it saved my $500. to $1000 to do it myself. (expensive California.)

I was having a problem finding someone to clean and service my spa, I talked with quite a few companies, and no one was interested. I was so happy when Anthony from Paradise Pool Service called me. He came right away and is taking care of my spa.
