"Worst customer service ever! Our trash is supposed to be picked up on Thursdays and it was not. I called to find out why and I was told they would pick it up later that day, or first thing Friday morning, and it was not. I called again Friday, left a voicemail and never received a return call. Come Monday morning, our trash still had not been picked up so we called again and was told they would be by to pick it up within the next hour. Come the afternoon it still had not been picked up, so I went into their office to ask why, and was told they would text the driver and it would be picked up first thing in the morning (being Tuesday morning). I then said "no, that is what you have been telling me already" the extremely rude guy who was sitting next to the receptionist stood up and told me to "get the f*ck out". This is not how you conduct a business and keep customers. Needless to say that we will be cancelling the service we have had for over 5 years."

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

Garbage disposals last an average of seven years but can function well past 10 years. However, as time goes on and more food is ground, the grinding plates will slowly lose their edge and need replacing. A motor likely won’t last 10 or more years, but you should be able to get a minimum of five years at least, even under heavy usage.
