For me it was really important when looking for a contractor that they had some good online reviews, and that communication was going to be easy during the process. Too many times you hire someone and then after you sign the contract everything changes as different people are involved. This was not the case here. Working with Allen and his team we were able to get a really good idea on the timeline and the pricing and after all was finished we were right on target. No surprises. For a project this size thats a really good thing. Not only would I recommend Handyman Connection, I would go out of my way to make sure I use them next time for anything else I needed. - Handyman Connection - PhoenixOne of the great things about Handyman Connection: They tell you exactly how much the *labor* will cost. They can do estimates for the materials, which we requested. But the point is that they do not mark up materials. At all. Contractors sometimes charge up to 30% over cost. With these guys you know exactly how much you're paying for labor, rather than a set amount that contains an unknown markup on materials. This system also meant that we were able to use a discounted gift card we bought when our guy went to Home Depot. The savings were small, but every bit helps, right? They were able to schedule an appointment quickly. Bob came out on time for both the initial inspection and the actual work. He was very personable. He noticed that we were nervous about money. (I'm the only one who works.) So he suggested Bagster rather than pay his hourly fee (and the dump fees) to have him drive the materials to the dump. I'm pretty sure the company gets a discount, so we only paid about $120 for the bag and pick-up. They gave me an 8-8:30 a.m. window for Bob to come start the repairs. He called the day before to confirm that he would be there around 8:20. The work was done in two days, as promised. (We had an appraiser due out two days later, so we were nervous.) He was even able to return a few materials, so we were able to recoup about $15. These guys are great, and I already have my eye on some more projects I'll be calling them for

"It was an awesome experience. I needed help to get my 35 foot Sailboat from Maderia Beach to Ft Myers Beach, FL. Paul Wilkerson came down to Madeira Beach and we boarded my boat. He immediately noticed a few things that needed attention. So before we even left, he climbed up the mast to fix some wiring. He also checked out other systems. We left Maderia Beach on a Saturday morning. We dropped anchor in Venice that night. Then the next day we hit lots of bad weather before arriving in Ft Myers Beach FL. He was giving me sailing instructions the whole time. He knows how to handle a boat in rough seas and made me feel safe. Also I learned a lot from him. We tore a mainsail on the way in, and he also helped with getting that to a repair facility. I would say that was above and beyond the call of duty. I would recommend Paul to anyone who needs to have a boat moved. In fact when I move the boat to the keys, I will call on his services again.
