"Very professional and on time. Completed work fast. Lighting is so much better. Florescent lighting changed in kitchen to LED lighting and LED lighting installed in office area. I would gladly use Mister Sparky again. The techs on the two separate jobs were Terry and Arbi. Both are great!"

Customers say: Quality work

"We worked with Michelle at Changes Interior Design to do a complete remodel of our 2,000 sq ft house in Scottsdale. Michelle came up with the design, and once the changes were finalized, contracted out all of the work to her tradesman (who were all fantastic), and managed the entire project from start to finish. She was especially good at listening and communicating, which as anyone knows is vital to a project being successful. Her fee was reasonable and overall we could not be more happy with the work performed. Here is a breaddown of the work that was performed (approximately ~$75,000). There are probably a few things from the list below that I am missing, but overall we never suffered any setbacks during the project that were unreasonable. Her ability to manage a large project and listen/understand her client at the same time is extremely impressive. Kitchen: new kitchen counters (custom granite) painting/lacquering kitchen cabinets new kitchen appliances and fixtures switching from an electric stove to gas stove (all plumbing) farmhouse sink and associated cabinetry work new recessed lighting and under cabinet lighting designed/constructed full built-in desk area in kitchen, with lighting, electrical, cabinetry, etc. designed and built custom subway tile backsplash General: new solid core doors throughout house new paint throughout interior of house new electrical outlets/light switches/trim panels throughout interior of house wired den and bedrooms with individual surge-protected outlets and ethernet hookups Master bathroom (complete gut) changed entire layout to convert shower stall and tub to a large walk in double shower with two shower heads (one on each side) designed and built custom vanity with white cabinetry, marble countertops, and recessed lighting. changed glass block windows to two windows that we could open instead all new plumbing designed entire master closet built-ins for organizational purposes new sliding door for master closet all new tile flooring Guest bathroom (complete gut) Re-did entire shower stall area with tub (tub, tile, fixtures, etc) designed and built custom vanity (to match master) with white cabinetry, marble countertops, and lighting all new tile flooring (to match master)"

"Our project started with a quote to grade our driveway and courtyard turn-around, but it ended up being such more. As new homeowners of a 15 yr old home, we had much to do to upgrade our outdoor areas. Little did we know the vast experience and knowledge that Cisco possessed. In a short and efficient period of time, we collaborated with Cisco, who, through him and his exceptional teams, created an outdoor space far beyond our expectations. He completed the demolition of a metal fence and concrete stair walkway and installed an expansive private stucco wall, extended the existing paver patio, and added a 30' x 12' putting green. In addition, he designed and installed a professional landscape lighting system. He and his team arrived on time every day, worked very hard, stayed on budget, and completed the job in less than 90 days from contract signing to completion. Truly remarkable!! Next will be the grading project. 5-Stars all the way!!"

"Very clean and professional. Roger and his team did an excellent job. We were installing canned lighting in our kitchen and front. Roger spent time with me reviewing the best locations for the lighting as well as the switch locations. Best of all, he did not leave me with a dry wall project when they were done. Will hire again."

"Project: Multiple power outlets and new lighting for my workshop, plus a new outlet location inside the house. They advised me on options, the estimate was very reasonable for the scope of work, the plus side was all work was completed that same day, I thought I would I would need to wait. Brutally hot day in the attic but these guys did not quit until the work and clean up was completed. Usable convenient power and decent lighting in my garage/workshop. Wish I had done it months ago. Definately use them for any future electrical on my home."

"I found Outdoor Xscapes at the Home & Landscape show last September. From the first time Steve M. came to my home he was nothing but punctual, professional and helpful. He listened to what I wanted to accomplish and was able to translate that to a plan. Even after several revisions and the decision to wait until after the holidays to begin the work, there was never any pressure from him. The work started on January 16th. The crew they sent was amazing, there were at least 12 workers the first & second days. In the course of 4 days they removed a 40x10 concrete patio, removed 1400 sf of grass, built a 3ft masonry wall, two 25 ft planters, 70 ft of stucco seat wall, laid 1700 sf of pavers, bulit a fire pit and installed the propane tank, topped all the walls with Travertine caps, planted 12 shrubs, and installed a drip system and low voltage lights. I can't say enough about Jorge, Carlos, Pablo and the rest of the crew. Any time I had a question or concern they were able to address it. Steve called every day to check in with me to make sure I was happy. If you want a great company to do landscaping, Outdoor Xcapes should be your first call."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

The majority of potential burglars are amateurs looking to make a quick buck after breaking and entering. By installing motion-sensor lights, alarm systems, and security cameras, throughout the home, there’s a good chance you will deter crime on your property.

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.

The five common types of landscape lighting are up-lighting, down-lighting, spotlights, built-in lighting, and pathway lighting.

  • Up-lighting casts light upwards from the ground, mostly for aesthetic purposes.

  • Down-lighting directs light onto the ground, lighting pathways, or outdoor space.

  • Spotlights cast direct, focused lighting in any direction.

  • Built-in lighting integrates lighting into an outdoor feature.

  • Pathway lighting illuminates walkways, increasing safety.

You can use outdoor electrical outlets to conveniently power landscaping equipment such as electrical lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers. From a recreational standpoint, outdoor outlets are handy for powering electric grills, mini-fridges, and stereos. They're also helpful when it's time to string Christmas lights on your home and around your property.
