"I have used this company before. Their process does not soak the carpet - it is dry within an hour and the carpets are clean.
We had an area with significant cat urine odor. They used their deodorizer but explained that  their process does not get down to the pad, so if urine has penetrated the pad, steam cleaning should be used.  They also gave me advice about how to have a small wool area rug cleaned.
They worked quickly and efficiently and asked me to call them if there were any problems that arose.
I appreciated their professionalism and honesty about the services they can provide and their willingness to recommend others when needed.
I will certainly use them again.

"This is a Farther & son operation, and they were great! Doran, the dad and his son, Ashton were both so nice, very professional and did a beautiful job restoring the beauty of my floor tile and grout. They showed up on time, returned all calls, and texts, and answered all my questions. They also cleaned an 8x10 area rug that had some pet stains and it looks SO much better! I will definitely hire eco-green again!"

"Our entire house is tiled. The areas under the furniture and some of the rarely used rooms still looked great but the grout in the traffic areas was discolored. Nothing we used, including several steam cleaners we had purchased over the years, could get it close to the original color. We had procrastinated about hiring a professional company for a long time because we were concerned about the mess and expense and didn't expect much of an improvement. Another issue we had was that the grout on the travertine tile on the floor of our sunken tub/shower had rust-looking stains. We suspected that we might have to regrout. Then I remembered the name Sir Grout having seen their display at a home show several years ago. I researched it on Angle's List. The reviews looked great and there was a coupon. The owner, Brian, came out to our home to give us an estimate. He was a great communicator. I stated that I just wanted to have the traffic areas cleaned. I expected him to strongly encourage us to clean the whole house. However, he agreed and did not even attempt to up sell the job. He was honest and predicted that in the worst areas we would likely only see about a 75 percent improvement. My expectations were realistic and the price was reasonable. I booked the job for the earliest available date which was about a week out. Brian called me that day and told me when Ben and Brady would arrive. He said the job would take a few hours. They arrived on time and were neat, clean, friendly, accommodating and beyond competent. I asked if they would start with the shower and master bedroom. They methodically worked as a team and completed the entire job in only an hour and a half. The results exceeded what Brian predicted and our expectations. We will definitely use Sir Grout when the grout gets discolored again and will recommend this company to friends and neighbors.

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Yes. Baking soda and vinegar—when diluted with water—are safe to use to clean sticky laminate floors.

Common options include hardwood, tile, and vinyl floors. Professionals tailor methods to the specific material.

The cost to polish floors averages around $200 per room, but you could pay anywhere from $100 to $300. Some factors that influence the total cost of floor polishing include the following:

  • Square footage of flooring

  • Type of floor

  • Whether you need floor repairs done beforehand

  • Whether or not you want professional floor cleaning done beforehand

Since square footage is the most significant cost factor, you might get a more accurate estimate by using the average cost per square foot for floor polishing, which is between $1.00 and $2.50.

To properly maintain and care for hardwood floors without damaging the finish, establish a regular cleaning routine. Sweep with a broom or microfiber dust mop daily, or vacuum weekly, to remove dirt and debris that can scratch the surface; be sure to clean in tight corners and under furniture. For a deeper clean, use a damp mop with a cleaner specifically designed for hardwood floors, but avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water, as this can damage the wood. You can further protect your floors by placing mats at entryways to catch dirt and moisture and putting felt pads under furniture legs to prevent scratches. For long-term care, refinish the floors as needed to keep them looking their best.

A floor polisher won’t remove scratches from a wood floor, but the polish can fill in surface scratches and make them all but invisible. If you run your fingernail gently over the scratch and it doesn’t catch, chances are that the polish will hide it. If it does catch, you might want to have your floors fully refinished, and you might need to have a professional floor sander in for particularly deep scratches. When in doubt, call a professional floor polisher to determine if polish will fill in your scratches or if you need more in-depth services.
