"Chris and Arturo are both professional, reliable and trustworthy. I got about 4 quotes for the job I wanted done and I knew right away that Chris would do a great job-and would make sure we were happy with the work. He and Arturo showed up on time every day, and always made sure I knew about their schedule and how long they would be be at my house each day working (so I could plan my day accordingly). We still have a lot of painting we need to get done in our house-and we will definitely use Chris and Arturo.

"Mr. Ventura is very professional and provides extremely high quality work. He was always ontime and kept my husband and I updated as the project progressed. He is a very polite person and takes great pride in his work. I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for interior/exterior home painting/repairs. He was prompt in coming out for a quote and was able to complete our project within the discussed time frame. We were so thrilled with his work that we will be hiring him again for interior painting."

"I live in a 130+ year old Victorian house in Midtown Memphis which needed a serious paint job / interior & exterior. Brain visited the property within 2 days of me contacting him and gave a quote on the spot. His awesome team first pressure washed the house & 24x30 detached shop. Then made all the necessary repairs, rotten wood, leaky areas, damaged Sheetrock, etc, Things I didn’t even see that needed attention. His team of 20 caulked & primed everything to the point the house looked like it had chicken pox! When finished my husband & I were astonished!! Friends said the house hasn’t looked this good in the 35 years I’ve lived here. The entire team was considerate, honest, prompt on the job & professional at what they did. This was all done from start to finish in 9 days!! Thank you Brian & your Amazing Team!"

"They were puntual and ready to do the job in the time set, even earlier to start. They kept the other areas cover and protected from the painting job. They always wanted to make sure the customer was satisfied with the job, if not they will come by and work on fixing it promptly. Very friendly and respectful crew. Great final job."

"He started working right after the contract was signed.  I was not expecting the work to start so soon but he started on the prep work. First he started in the hallway stripping the wallpaper and prepping the area to be painted. Next he applied blue tape to the areas to be painted in the dining room . He then helped to move small items from the Dining Room.  He covered the remaining furniture with plastic.  The next day  he scraped the popcorn from the ceiling mudded and applied the first coats of paint.  He would switch between working on the ceiling, to painting the hall, and painting the back stairway. By the end of the day the work on small hall and back stairway was complete.  The next day he finished painting the Dining Room ceiling.  He then started and finished painting the wood work and walls in the Dining Room.  He started and finished the door last.

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

If you recently splashed paint on the wrong area of a wooden object, remove it with a solvent or caustic paint stripper. Some paint that has yet to dry may be removable by hand with coarse sandpaper or a plastic scraper. Another trick for removing dried-on paint is rubbing a dab of nail polish remover on the paint to remove it, but avoid touching the bare wood surface.

To fix bubbling paint, scrape away any loose or blistered areas using a putty knife. Lightly sand the surface to smooth out rough edges and create a level finish. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust, dirt, and any residue. Once the surface is clean and dry, apply a quality primer suited to the material you're painting. Finally, repaint the area, making sure to work in proper temperature and humidity conditions to prevent new bubbles from forming.

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.

Yes, you can paint over old exterior paint, but success depends on the condition of the existing paint and proper surface preparation. If the previous coating is in good shape (not cracked, peeling, or flaky), you can paint over it with less prep work. However, for the most durable and professional-looking results, follow these key preparation steps:

  • Clean the Surface: Thoroughly clean the exterior to remove all dirt, grime, and mildew. A pressure washer can be very effective for this.

  • Scrape and Sand: If the old paint is peeling, cracked, or flaky, you must scrape off all loose paint. After scraping, sand the surface to create a smooth, even base for the new paint. Sanding is especially important for wood siding.

  • Apply Primer: Using a quality exterior primer is highly recommended. It ensures the new paint adheres properly, improves durability, and provides a uniform finish. If you are painting a lighter color over a dark one, a tinted primer will help cover the old color more effectively.

Some brands offer paint-and-primer-in-one products for convenience. Taking the time to prepare the surface properly will not only increase your home's curb appeal but also help protect your siding and extend its life.

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.
