Customers say: Quick response

"Dustin was very helpful in communicating with the insurance agent. He also explained the ridge vent which I had not heard of. This replaced the turbines that I had previously. The workers were polite and worked steadily throughout the day. I was surprised they were finished in one day. They also did a great job cleaning up afterwards."

"My professional, Sam Roddy, was very prompt and thorough. He was very conscientious of making sure the work area was cleaned after any procedure. Sam actually installed my wood burning heaters and explained the proper and safe methods for operation. I appreciate his strong work ethic and for wanting to make sure the job is done correctly. He will always be the person I trust to clean and maintain my heaters."

"Answered our email requests for estimate in a quick and professional manner. Their representative measured and explained all the details of how the work would be done and gave us an approximate date of installation (within a week of estimation). We were notified via email and then called to verify when they were coming...this allowed us to be prepared for that day. The installers were right on time, and began work immediately upon arrival. They worked efficiently and quickly to complete the task in barely over an hour. Installation was in the spring, so they cleaned out the debris from the fall/winter and I guess we will see how well it works this coming fall. So far, we have been very satisfied with the results we've seen during this rainy and windy spring."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

After a house fire, you should not reenter your home unless the fire crew has told you it’s safe to do so. In the longer term, you should not attempt to make repairs to the house on your own. Professional crews are trained to clean up after a fire (including smoke and soot damage), dry out any water damage from the firefighter crews, and make the necessary structural, plumbing, and electrical repairs—and this is all likely covered by insurance.

You don’t have to put smoke detectors in every room. At a minimum, though, there should be one on every level of your home, one in every bedroom, and one in the hallways outside the bedrooms. If you have a floor without bedrooms, place a smoke detector in the living room or next to any stairs that lead to an upper level. Attics and basements should also have at least one smoke alarm.

DIY smoke detectors are possible, but professional installation ensures compliance with fire codes and optimal safety.

Yes. It’s okay to leave a pellet stove on overnight, and these stoves can provide 24 to 48 hours of warmth from one ignition. However, you should practice proper pellet stove maintenance, like cleaning the burn pot before each use, deep cleaning the unit at least once per year, and running the fan when the stove is lit.

Grounding is a great first step to prevent electrical shock, but you can take it further with GFCI outlets and AFCIs (arc fault circuit interrupters). In particular, AFCIs help protect against the type of electrical arcs that cause fires, like if a mouse chews on a wire or your laptop starts overheating at the wall. These are required in some areas of your home.
