Once you’ve found your scorpion problem, there are plenty of ways to take action against those unwanted pests. The first things you should do are seal any cracks in your home, reinforce your screen doors, and clear up your brush and yard waste. If the problem persists, identify the hot zone areas where scorpions are most likely to go, then apply a sticky trap, spray with scorpion chemical spray, or use diatomaceous earth.
Knowing what attracts mice to your house can help you figure out how to eliminate them or prevent them from ever appearing. Mice visit your house for two main reason:
Access to food or water: Mice eat everything from grains and seeds to fruits and veggies. They’re also thirsty critters that return to leaky faucets and pet bowls.
Access to shelter: Mice flock to any place that’s warm, hidden, and viable for shelter. That might be an insulated attic, a crack in the wall, or a cluttered indoor area.
The right snake trap depends on your needs and the species of snake. Glue traps are the easiest to handle but are inhumane and may catch and kill other animals, like squirrels, birds, and mice. Cage traps catch snakes alive so they can be released elsewhere. Minnow traps are the best choice for water snakes.
Stink bugs don't build nests, but they do like to hang around out of sight. They typically hide in cracks, crevices, and tight spaces within buildings, especially during the colder months. They are often found in attics, crawl spaces, and along walls or ceilings. To find them, give these areas a detailed inspection, particularly around windows, doors, and vents.
Rocks are less likely to attract snakes and other critters because their prey (termites, ticks, and other insects) don’t usually inhabit this environment. However, if you have placed together rocks with large spaces in between or near a source of water, you may find a snake or an occasional chipmunk seeking shelter.
