"They were punctual and fast. I had to stop them short of completion, as some doors are not weather tight, and water seeped into the house. Not their fault! It would have been better had they been prepared to do some window/door cleaning by hand but that wasn't something they do.

You can use wood, metal, or plastic as a door shim, but keep in mind that wood will rot easier than the other two materials. Your local hardware store should have at least one type in stock.
