"They did a great job! We just wanted them to get the tree down and just top another tree and put the limbs on the ground and my husband and I were going to load and haul the brush in our dump trailer. The crew “on their own” helped us load all the brush and they all had rakes and raked the entire area! It was perfect when they left. My husband and I are older and we thought we were still young and would have no problem with all that brush but it wasn’t long until we said, “what would we have done without those guys”. Great workers! They see what needs to be done and just do it! I highly recommend them. They are coming this fall to cut some limbs out of another tree for us!"

"They did a great job, very talented experienced crew, we are so thankful the trees are down! Brown’s Tree Care was a God Send. The estimator came to our place by accident. We live in a pine grove and cut down trees all the time. The trees they cut where a challenge we didn’t want to attempt."

"We have a huge tree between our property and our neighbor's right on the fence. It was unsafe with branches overhanging both houses. The Down Rite crew topped 10 feet off the top and shaped the tree all the way around making sure there were no unsafe branches over our houses. The clean up was perfect and the price was the best! We will use Down Rite for any future work."

"Blairâ s Landscaping Company team did a great job cleaning out the beds where the shrubs are located. He also trimmed the trees that were growing higher than our garage. I would recommend Mike and his team to offer a fair price for their work"

"I can't say enough good things about Angel's Landscaping. The 5 star rating falls short of how pleased we were with their work..should be a 10! Angel took our ideas and built a patio extension and flower beds that far exceeded everything we had imagined. If you hire them, you won't be disappointed! I will use this business for any of our future projects. Thank you Angel's Landscaping for transforming our yard!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Tree roots don’t necessarily break through concrete on their own, but they can certainly take advantage of existing cracks, even very small ones. As roots grow, they expand the cracks, making them larger and leading to serious and costly foundation damage. It’s a good idea to have repairs on any foundation cracks you’re concerned about.

You may wonder whether tree removal is tax deductible: Tree removal is not tax-deductible for homeowners unless it's related to a federally declared disaster. In that case, the cost may qualify as a casualty loss. However, if you own a commercial property, like a rental home, tree removal could be deductible if it's necessary for safety, maintenance, or part of a larger capital improvement project, and you must hire a professional tree removal service and keep documentation. Always consult a tax professional beforehand to see if you qualify.

You should not trim an oak tree in the summer. Oak trees are especially susceptible to disease, and open tree wounds are an invitation for beetles that carry tree-killing fungus. If there’s no risk that the oak tree will do damage to your property or hurt someone, it’s best to save the trimming for fall or winter. If you can, seal the wound with latex to prevent fungus from getting inside.

There are a few general rules to follow that will help you prune your trees correctly. One of the most important rules is to prune during the correct season for the type of tree you have. Typically, pruning should be during late winter. For younger trees, you should not remove more than a ⅓ of the tree's crown when pruning. Also, remember to remove dead and diseased branches first, then proceed with pruning the rest of the tree.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.
