"We had a huge tree that unfortunately had died and was over our house and neighbor's as well. We called Brown and they had us scheduled for the next day! They arrived before time to go over everything with us and make sure everything was a go. It didn't take long at all! They were very professional and timely and the cleanup was the best I've ever seen in my life! If you need any tree service you would be doing yourself a disservice not to use Brown's tree services! Thank you and the team for all your work we are so grateful for your kindness!"

"We have a huge tree between our property and our neighbor's right on the fence. It was unsafe with branches overhanging both houses. The Down Rite crew topped 10 feet off the top and shaped the tree all the way around making sure there were no unsafe branches over our houses. The clean up was perfect and the price was the best! We will use Down Rite for any future work."

"Exceptional service. Michael responded to our request for quotation for tree removal within hours. Service options and pricing were great, to the extent we subsequently contracted them to do unrelated work in other parts of the yard. Planning more projects now…. Top notch communication, 10/10 experience."

"They installed 200+ feet on mulch beds, cut rock tree rings/beds, 18 small trees, 4 large trees, 32 small shrubs and grasses, a gravel drainage area, and a decomposed granite area for a freestanding fire pit. They did an excellent job at a fair price. Very professional and responsive. Will not hesitate to hire them again."

"I can't say enough good things about Angel's Landscaping. The 5 star rating falls short of how pleased we were with their work..should be a 10! Angel took our ideas and built a patio extension and flower beds that far exceeded everything we had imagined. If you hire them, you won't be disappointed! I will use this business for any of our future projects. Thank you Angel's Landscaping for transforming our yard!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

For small trees, tree removal should take just a couple of hours to complete. Assume that a mid-sized tree will take between four and eight hours, depending on the extent of the equipment required and the health of the tree. Remember to add up to two hours for stump removal. Larger trees could take as long as one or two working days, about eight hours each.

Generally, no, tree topping isn’t a good technique, and you should avoid using it in most cases. Tree topping may be the only good option to save a tree following severe damage after a storm, but in most other cases, it’s not the right choice. Tree topping can leave trees vulnerable to disease and further damage, and most pros will suggest against it.

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home. You should never cut more than 15 percent of above-ground tree roots at one time. If you have any questions about cutting tree roots, contact your local arborist.

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large.

Monitor the fire closely to ensure it doesn’t spread, and have a hose on hand if it starts to get out of control. When the fire is out, break apart the burned stump and dig out what’s left of it.

If this sounds like a good option, learn more about how to burn a tree stump before attempting it, as it does come with risks.
