"Rick and his team were professional and the results show it. Prior to the quote, he carefully explained the process and materials that would be best and last the longest. I had him paint the cabinets in my kitchen and bathrooms as well as a built in shelving unit and desk. They all turned out beautifully! He was very attentive to details and assured that the job was complete to my standards prior to leaving. There were also no hidden charges, and he met the quoted amount. My wife and I are very happy with the results."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"We used AC/DC for a whole home renovation. A friend of mine recommended them, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. As most people know, any renovation on your home or business can be extremely stressful. AC/DC laid out a detailed plan for the renovations, as well as timeline for completion. They stuck to the schedule accordingly, and quickly informed us of any issues they ran into while remodeling. Any changes we made to the original scope of work, they gladly handled at a fair price. I am normally reluctant to refer contractors, but I can say with full faith to anyone who hires AC/DC, you will not regret it. I am very pleased with the way our remodel turned out, and they couldn't have left our house any cleaner after they were complete."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

Since there are many methods of repairing your cabinets, including refacing and refinishing, it can be tricky to know when to replace or fix your existing cabinets. Generally, it’s best to repair your existing cabinets when the cabinet boxes are in good condition. Additionally, this option is best when you’re being budget-friendly or remodeling.

Replacing your cabinets is best when you’re changing the layout of the room or when the cabinet boxes are in rough shape. It’s also best to replace your cabinets if you need more storage space, as this will remove the existing cabinets for new ones.

In most cases, it’s more affordable to refinish your cabinets than replace them, with refinishing costs averaging $3,000 and replacement costs around $9,000. However, there are some instances in which it’s better to replace your cabinets, like if they’re an outdated style, badly damaged and beyond repair, or a sub-par material, like fiberboard. In all other cases, it’s usually a better idea to have a professional refinish them to save money and restore their original condition.

To estimate the cost of your kitchen cabinet installation, measure along the wall where you want your cabinets to be. Add up the linear feet, remembering to include both upper cabinets and lower cabinets in your total. Then, calculate the cost by multiplying the average price per linear foot of the type of cabinet you plan to install by the total length you measured.

Yes, you can replace the cabinet hardware after installation to change up the look of your cabinets. Replacing the hinges, handles, pulls, and knobs allows you the design flexibility to match your other appliances or finish schemes to your liking. Talk with your kitchen designer or cabinet installer about the best hardware option for your cabinets.

Kitchen cabinets can hold a whopping 500 pounds, but that is only possible if you attach them correctly. They must be anchored securely with long screws driven straight into the wall studs for solid support. Depending on your cabinets and the installer, some upper cabinets use specialized hanging systems or brackets for extra reinforcement, ensuring they stay put no matter how full they get.
