"needed help with network security cameras in my home.  Mr. Jim did not have experience with them but he was more than willing to try.  He was very responsive and determined to fix the problem.  He was not going to charge me if he couldn't help me.  He did exactly what he promised and completed this project with a great attitude!  I highly recommend him and will definitely utilize his help in the future."

"I wouldn't do it again. It wasn't that bad, but it just wasn't that good. They were young guys and I didn't get a high degree of professionalism from them. They were nice guys. You can pay extra for water spots when you get them off, and then there was some tape on something. It just wasn't a fabulous job. I've had in my bigger house where I lived guys that really were window cleaners. I wouldn't say they were bad, but I wouldn't call them back. I didn't know whether they did screens or not, but they didn't so as soon as it rained, the dirt on the screens got on the windows. There was no need to have had them done. It was a nice day so there were not any complications along those lines. I live in a little cottage and some of it is, quote, two stories or 1-1/2, but they used a long pole instead of a ladder and you just don't get as much pressure that way in cleaning. I said it didn't matter because they didn't do screens and they tried to do it from the inside reaching out. They were nice young men, but just not of professional quality I would want to have done when I do my windows. They were late, but they did call."

"Very well. I dealt directly with Steven, the owner. He was always timely and always did what he said. If he said he would call on a certain date, he called even if he had not yet obtained the information discussed (there were others who failed to make return calls even though they assured me they would). I had been told that the door could not be repaired and must be replaced, which would have been quite costly. Steven stuck with me and came up with a creative and affordable repair solution. In addition, he was willing to stick by his estimate even though more work was required than he initially thought. I paid him the extra to ensure that he was fairly compensated, but he would have graciously accepted the estimate he had given. He was professional, nice and did a quality job. I would definitely use him again."

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Tears, holes, or difficulty in opening and closing suggest a need for repair.

Screen repair is always worthwhile, as tears and holes in your windows and door screens are unsightly and allow pests and debris into your home, rendering the screen useless. The faster you repair your screens, the faster you can open your windows and doors freely to let the fresh air in. Consider repairing multiple door and window screens during one appointment with a screen repair technician to make the investment and labor costs worth it.

For most common repairs, a professional window repair service can fix a window in one to three hours. However, replacing window frames or repairing a large, multi-pane window will likely take longer to complete. For comparison, a window installation or repair professional should be able to replace up to 15 windows per day.

Yes, you can replace the screen without removing the door in most cases depending on the frame holding the screen. Doors with removable spline and screen frames make it a snap to replace the mesh while the door remains in place. The best part is that it’s a simple DIY project requiring a few tools in addition to the screen material.

Most windows last for 15 to 30 years, depending on the frame material and the glass quality, but most will require repairs during that time. Windows gradually lose efficiency, so it’s usually best to have a window repair technician inspect and service your windows every five to 10 years. You should also repair your windows if you experience the following:

  • Leaks

  • Drafts

  • Difficulty opening or closing

  • Sudden increases in heating and cooling bills

  • Outdoor noise becomes more audible

  • Signs of physical damage
