"Mr. Renshaw was very professional. I had multiple places in my parents house that I was renovating where I was concerned about asbestos. Mr. Renshaw looked at all and gave his opinion of which ones should be tested. We had one positive that he came back and removed. Great work, finished in a 1/2 day what he though initially may take two days."

"I hired Sean and the team to remove asbestos in an older home. The work involved multiple rooms. I was impressed with the amount of preparation it took to contain the asbestos. I was also impressed with the long hours the team spent removing the asbestos-containing materials. The process was explained fully, all my questions were answered, and I am confident the house is ready for remodeling. The only downside: some paint was removed in the process of site preparation. I was told that might happen so I cant fault A1A."

"It took them 3 days to get here and they came at 9:30 at night to remove a hot tub, but they worked quickly, sawing the tub in half and loading it onto their trailer to haul away. They were done in just over an hour."

Asbestos Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, professionals are trained to conduct safe renovations post-asbestos removal, ensuring comprehensive safety and compliance with regulatory standards. They provide reconstruction and restoration services to restore the integrity and appearance of affected areas.

Asbestos siding can be dangerous, but it doesn't necessarily pose a health risk if it's in good condition and left undisturbed. The danger comes from inhaling asbestos fibers, which can be released if the siding is damaged, deteriorating, crumbling, or disturbed during remodeling or repairs. Exposure to these airborne fibers can cause serious, life-threatening diseases like asbestosis (lung scarring), mesothelioma (an aggressive cancer), and other lung cancers.

If your asbestos siding is intact, the general recommendation is to leave it alone. However, if it's damaged or you plan to renovate, it's crucial to handle it safely. Due to the significant health risks and the difficulty of containing the fibers, it is not recommended to perform any asbestos work yourself. Instead, you should hire a professional asbestos removal company to inspect, repair, encapsulate, or remove the material. The presence of asbestos can also negatively impact your property's value.

If you know your popcorn ceiling has asbestos, you should not attempt to clean it. It simply is not possible to learn how to clean asbestos safely without potentially releasing microscopic fibers into the air that could lead to severe illness in the future. Avoid disturbing or cleaning the ceiling until the asbestos removal company can get rid of the popcorn ceiling.

Asbestos-containing materials, like duct wrap, should be encapsulated using a sealant specifically formulated for asbestos. These sealants work to bind with asbestos fibers and help further neutralize them as a health risk. Whenever you’re working near asbestos-containing materials, be sure to keep safety as a top priority and wear a P-100-rated respirator as well as protective clothing.

While there are some sealants designed to be spray-painted over asbestos to encapsulate it, you still want to make sure it’s a specifically designed product for this purpose—not just run-of-the-mill spray paint. Furthermore, be sure you aren’t inadvertently spraying the asbestos fibers around when you take on this project, and as always, be sure to wear the proper protective gear, including a P-100-rated respirator and a disposable body suit, so as not to inadvertently breathe in or spread asbestos fibers.
