"Very professional. Very efficient. Very nice people.....I'd like to have them for neighbors. They were very careful to not make a mess or damage anything when bringing in, moving and removing their hoses. They left the house as clean as they found it. The insulation they blew in was smooth and even and even throughout the attic area."

"Performed insulation work on our home. Vacuumed out the 25 year old blown in insulation on day one, then sprayed in foam for the whole roof to include the attached garage, and cleaned up afterwards. When there was confusion of the work they performed (my fault) Lee called me up to see if we were satisfied and was willing to do more to make me happy, but this was not necessary after he explained the work performed and I agreed that all was good. They came in on the week promised, delivered what was expected, and at a very competitive price. Also for veterans, they do give a veterans discount, so don't forget to ask."

"They didnâ t just come and send in a quote, they took the time to sit down and showed us the different gutter options and guarantees. They were not the least expensive but the salesmanâ s knowledge of his products and responsiveness was the reason we choose this company. Only complaint, if you want to call it that, is I didnâ t receive an advanced call the installers were coming. Luckily I was home when they came. The installers were professional and polite. Highly recommend!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

To cover your HVAC ducts and air vents during construction, use plastic sheets or drop cloths secured with painter's tape. Be sure to cover all supply vents on your floors and walls, as well as the larger HVAC return vent, which is typically on the ceiling. While canvas drop cloths can also be used, they may not catch all the fine dust. It is crucial to shut off your HVAC system or at least the zone where construction is happening. Running the system with vents sealed can put significant strain on the blower motor and air handler. For additional dust containment, you can also hang plastic sheets over doorways to separate the construction area from the rest of your home.

In nearly all cases, you are required to install a vapor barrier in your crawl space. However, local regulations will change based on the local climate and the crawl space's susceptibility to moisture. Even if a vapor barrier is not legally required, it is often a good idea to keep your crawl space dry.

Insulation provides additional protection for your tankless water heater. Even if the unit is installed inside the house, it’s still a good idea to wrap the unit up with insulation batts, especially if you live in cold climates. For outdoor units, you can build an insulated box around the tankless water heater for freeze protection.

You should not use spray foam insulation in several specific areas. Avoid applying it in spaces exposed to high temperatures, such as near electrical boxes or recessed lighting, unless the foam is specifically rated for such use. Applying foam near electrical boxes can damage the wiring, and using it too close to lightboxes or recessed lights creates a potential fire hazard. Additionally, do not use spray foam in areas prone to shifting or movement, as this can lead to cracks and gaps in the insulation. Finally, open-cell foam is unsuitable for use below ground or in areas exposed to moisture because it can absorb water, which compromises its insulating effectiveness.

You can insulate an existing garage door. But while it’s a cost-effective option upfront, it may not perform as well as a garage door that comes with insulation. If you live in a colder climate—or if you plan on working in your garage and need a new door—you should purchase one with existing insulation for better efficiency.
