"He showed up on time just as scheduled he was very polite and informative as well as his son who works with him. Once the work was done they cleaned everything up and also showed me before and after pictures of the vents. We could definitely tell a difference once they finished. I will definitely refer this company"

"Computer did the "gotta send info to Microsoft" but when tried to reboot it ran through automatic repair without success. I did all the alternative without any success. He came and picked up the hard drive on Tuesday and returned it on Saturday. Fortunately he was able to "restore" without any data loss. Very happy with outcome."

"Brody and his crew were very professional. They showed up in time and completed the work as previously discussed. What caught my attention the most was their integrity and honesty. They did not try to sale me anything I did not needed like another crew I had used in the past. Is good to do business with good honest people which is hard to find these days."

"We have been very happy with Hatchet HVAC and have used them several times - once to service our AC when it wasn’t working properly and more recently to install an in-unit air purifier. Dylan was very friendly and was able to recommend a purifier for us that was within our budget. He had great communication and always arrives on time."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The cost to replace an AC evaporator coil is typically between $600 and $2,500, with an average cost around $1,300 to $1,350. The price of the coil itself can range from $550 to $1,100, depending on the brand, size, and style, with professional labor adding around $700. Replacing a condenser coil is generally less expensive, costing about $800. Because this repair involves handling refrigerants, it requires a licensed AC professional. Regular inspections, which cost between $200 and $600, can help prevent costly coil replacements.

If you know how to identify supply and return ducts, you’ll find that only the supply ducts will have dampers. Although your return ducts can have dampers, it’s not common. If you have one return duct that is pulling in too much air, adding a damper to it can help with overall system performance. However, dampers on return ducts are not a necessary addition for most homes.

You should know the main components of an air conditioner: the condenser coils, evaporator coils, drip pan, AC filter, ducts, and refrigerant. Each part plays a key role in the performance and safety of your AC system. When tracking the source of AC issues or odors, it helps to know where to look. Your outdoor unit houses your condenser coils, fan, and compressor. Your indoor unit houses your evaporator coils, drain lines, and filter, and it connects to your ductwork.

The time it takes for an air conditioner to dry fully after cleaning depends on the unit's size and humidity levels. Most units will dry within two to four hours after cleaning, but check the manufacturer's recommendations for drying times. Make sure to leave the unit off until it's completely dry.

Yes, government incentives and programs are available to encourage energy-efficient upgrades in many regions. These incentives may include tax credits, rebates, grants, and low-interest loans for homeowners who invest in energy-efficient improvements such as HVAC system upgrades, insulation, and efficient windows. The availability and specific details of these incentives can vary by location, so check with your local government or utility company to explore your options.
