"Jonathan and his crew were AMAZING! They replaced my gutters and facia, and when Jonathan found some bad wood underneath, he replaced it. He showed me everything, each step of the way, and asked what I wanted to do. He was not happy until everything was perfect!!! He was also great about staying in touch, regarding weather delays, etc. If he said he was going to be there, he was! I would hire Anglo-American Screens and Gutters again in a heartbeat!!! ??????"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

While minimal drippage may not be problematic, gutters that are constantly leaking or overflowing indicate damage or improper installation. A rain chain gutter or other ornamental feature may produce more dripping than usual. Likewise, rain dispersal systems may also cause water to sprinkle to the ground. However, if you notice pools of water or flooding around your property, then it’s a good idea to have your gutter system inspected.

Clogging, sagging, leaks, rust, and detachment from the roofline are common problems that need attention.

Yes, professionals can spot and rectify downspout issues such as clogs, leaks, or disconnections during cleaning. They ensure proper water flow, protecting the building's foundation and preventing water damage or erosion.

Unless you've chosen to install underground downspouts, your gutter downspouts shouldn't touch the ground. If they come into contact with the soil or pavement next to your home, rainwater can back up into them during a storm, preventing them from doing their job effectively. Instead, aim to have your downspouts end about 12 inches from the ground.

If your gutters get overwhelmed every time it rains, adding an extra downspout is a solution. First, you'll need to decide where to add the downspout. If your current setup only has a single downspout, one option is to place a new one at the opposite end of the gutter. If you already have a downspout at each end, adding a third one in the middle can help to lighten the load.

You can hire a professional to add a downspout yourself by cutting into the existing gutter and attaching the necessary parts, such as an outlet and brackets.
