"The Stump needing removal was the remnants of a tree which had been cut in order to replace septic tank field lines. This particular tree was over 40 years in age and its trunk and route system were grown and gnarled and tangled through not soil but stone primarily. There was a matte of surface roots covering the lower part of the driveway and across the top of this very steep and dangerous location. When Shannon pulled in with his trailer holding a piece of equipment I have never seen the likes of before that day. That piece of equipment was designed to grind a stump in the way a caterpillar moves. The equipment is from all appearances fastidiously maintained and to get to the start it had to make its way across a wide open trench which we covered in three-quarter inch plywood sheets in order to keep the equipment safe. This was the only route to get to the stump which sat on the crest of a steep, well very steep hill. It was amazing to see how adept Shannon is in managing that complex a piece of equipment he was using for this job. I had had two other attempts made to remove the stump and I figured when I saw that Swiss engineered Caterpillar looking thing that this was the piece of equipment and the right man to do the job. It was a dangerous and difficult job and I cannot think Shannon enough for his skills, kindness and consideration, his respect for my property, removing all of the debris so that the septic tank team could come back in the next day to resume their work, and for just being a great guy. Thanks to Shannon I had running water and septic tank service within a couple of days again. Shannon, well done."

"Jimmy, Josh and their crews took a jungle of a back yard and made it beautiful. The designed and did the entire project. We have received dozens of compliments from our neighbors as well as the City Inspectors. The built the retaining wall and waterfall, did the grading and installed the complete drainage and irrigation systems. Their price was very fair and concrete began the project they stayed on the job until they finished. I would give them six stars if I could. Highly recommend them for all landscape related projects. I’ve been working in landscaping for 5-6 years with my father and he has more than 20 years of experience in landscaping. We are a family owned business and my father has worked for two landscaping companies and those companies are Montgomery landscaping and Golden Landscapes. We've done irrigation and drainage work in multiple locations in alabama, we also do trimming, mulch, and straw. We do work in Montgomery, Wetumpka, Prattville, Millbrook, Alabaster, and any other city in the state of Alabama. We are very well versed in trimming ,irrigation and drainage systems, and laying sod and installing shrubs, trees and flowers. We take pride in our work and we cater to every aspect of what the client asks of us and we always ask for the clients opinion of the project before we finish. I believe we should be hired because of are amazing work ethic and experience we have in doing landscaping and our top priority will be to satisfy all clients with any project they have for us to complete.

"Building a new out building for a wood shop.  The location needed some excavation back into a hill to come up with a level area large enough for the 16'x20' footprint and 6' perimeter area for the installers.  The work seem to grow as we moved back into the hill; we ended up using close to 80 railroad ties to shore up the back and sides for the site.
We also decided to "bury" the power feed from an existing power pole so a change was made to the original contract.  While digging the trench, came across a significant piece of "Shelby County Gold (chert!)" which posed its own challenge.  Mother nature proved a bit fitful with Spring rain to really soak down the newly exposed dirt; delays were unavoidable but Heath stayed with it and we were able to get a level building site and a wire ready power conduit before the builders arrived to start construction.
All of this being said, Heath did a great job on what started as a seemingly easy request but turned out to be a more complex project with multiple challenges.  We are very pleased with his work, his work ethic and attention to detail.  Any future grading or excavation work will definitely be pointed in Heath's direction.

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Generally, a trenchless sewer line is worth the cost. If your old system needs replacement, trenchless sewer repair or replacement can save you thousands on excavation costs. Every homeowner’s situation is different, but this method is definitely worth it in a lot of cases.

The average cost of excavation is approximately $3,200, with typical projects ranging from $500 to $15,000. Depending on the contractor, you may be charged between $50 and $200 per cubic yard or an hourly rate of $40 to $180 for an excavation specialist. The total cost is influenced by several factors, including the project size, the amount of soil to be removed, and the soil's condition. Hard soil, tree roots, or excessive rocks and clay can increase the price, potentially adding $200 to $1,200 to the final bill. Other factors that can drive up costs include the presence of nearby structures that complicate the work or tight spaces that require manual excavation instead of heavy machinery.

How deep your septic system needs to be into the ground depends on several factors. In extremely cold environments, the tank needs to rest below the maximum frost line, which can be up to six or eight feet deep. The standard burying depth for most systems is between a few inches and four feet below ground level. Depth can also depend on the slope of the landscaping and other property variables.

While general contractors sometimes handle demolition, you can also look specifically for local demolition contractors. Demolition experts need to understand structural integrity, the equipment needed for safe demolition, and the permits required for demolition.

Above ground pools are not buried in the ground. Typically, above ground pools are semi-permanent. One reason they’re more affordable is that you don’t have to dig for an inground pool and pour concrete or another material. However, you can choose to install a semi inground pool, which is a hybrid between the two.
