"Highly recommend! They were punctual, worked with a real sense of urgency, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Their pricing was fair, they were honest and transparent from start to finish, and the quality of their work exceeded my expectations. If you?re looking for a roofing company you can trust, I wouldn?t hesitate to recommend them."

"Michael and Lester Cobb have done three re-roofs for our home renovation business, Rollins Crawford Properties. They did the roof on the home where we live. They also maintain the roofs that we havenâ t yet redone. Cobb roofing is our only roofer, and we have choices. Their work is top-flight, and if you do happen to have a problem with anything, they are on the spot to get it the way you want it. Call Michael and get that roof done!"

"I have hired Victors firm several times over the years. He replaces my roof when the shingles and wood needed replacement. Another tile he added Dormers to our house and floored in my attic. Another time he has repainted the house interior. He did an excellent job. He is my first go to firm for construction projects. His firm does excellent work."

"I was having issues with a roof leak. I wanted it looked at before next rain. Marcus immediately called. Came to look and was prepared to fix any problems when he arrived. He fully explained what he found, how he would repair it, and with video/pictures. He was able to give me a quote and was able to repair items immediately. He provided me with an invoice and said to call if there were any issues with leaking after the next rain. I couldn’t be happier with the professionalism and promptness of service."

"These people were hired to replace my roof and do inside sheetrock repair and painting. They sent two four man crews, one for the roof and one for the sheetrock and painting with work performed on the same days making the disruption short and efficient. All work was performed with respect and care and the results were very professional. So professional I hired them to paint my outside trim, gutters and garage. If you want a company that comes to get the job done and not waste time, think of them. The quality of all the work was excellent and the disruption for work was short with two crews working."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

A roof replacement can take anywhere from one to 14 days. For most homes, a full replacement that includes tearing off old materials takes about one to two days, though the average project can last up to 12 days. The exact timeline depends on several factors, including the roof's size and complexity, the type of roofing material, the crew size, and weather conditions. Certain materials take longer to install; for example, metal roofs can take seven to 14 days because the material is more difficult to work with than asphalt shingles, wood, or tile. A re-roofing project, where new shingles are installed over old ones, can take half the time or less. It's also important to factor in the time needed to obtain necessary permits. A professional roofing contractor will typically complete the job faster than a DIY approach.

Roll roofs don’t last as long as traditional roofs, like those made of asphalt shingles. A roll roof typically lasts between five and 15 years, whereas a shingled roof will last between 20 and 50  years. Modified bitumen roofs are similar in look to rolled roofing but have a 12 to 15 year warranty.

Most manufacturers’ warranties do not cover wind damage to roof shingles, but some companies include a wind warranty rider in their warranty offer. You can purchase this rider to protect yourself, your wallet, and your roof from any damage that might occur from wind. Be sure to read all the fine print and understand any limitations of the warranty.

It’s possible to walk on a clay tile roof, but you run the risk of breaking or cracking the tiles if you’re not careful, so it’s best not to walk on it if you can avoid it. If you or a contractor needs roof access, be sure to distribute your weight evenly and step on the portions of tile that are also supported underneath, which depends on your tile design. Walking on any roofing material is inherently dangerous, so wear rubber-soled shoes and use safety equipment if you need to access your roof.

The most common slope, or roof pitch, for a shed is 4:12 or four inches of height for every horizontal foot. For areas that experience heavy snow loads, a steeper roof of 6:12 or 9:12 is best.
