"I want to mention this company, as it is so unusual these days to experience such a polite young man and his coworker. We discussed the project thoroughly, but my husband and I decided to wait. BNF Construction is just getting started, give them a try. I give them 5 stars for their customer service and great attitude."

"I had some gutters that needed repair and was lucky to find William and Katie at Get Your Mind Out the Gutter. After a couple of other businesses simply refused to repair the gutters at a reasonable price, William and Katie showed up and saved the day. In addition to the high quality work, they went above and beyond in so many ways. In a couple of trouble spots, they took their time and made the repair correctly instead of simply getting it done quickly. They took pictures of the issues before the work and then after to ensure that I was happy with what was done (which certainly saved me from having to climb high ladder to check). During the repair, they discovered a location where squirrels had been entering my attic that I had been unable to locate. They patched the area and we've been squirrel-free ever since! They even worked well after dark to make sure the work was done before the next rain. And finally, they stand behind their work. In one area, a heavy rain showed a small issue with the gutter. They came back out - with no extra charge - to make sure the gutter worked properly. We've had a few rains since they completed the work and the gutters have worked wonderfully! Overall, I would highly recommend Get Your Mind Out the Gutter for any work you need done!"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Christmas trees need about 100 lights per foot, so you would need 700 lights for a 7-foot tree.

The length of time shouldn’t matter much if you stick with lightweight Christmas lights and similar decorations. Those shouldn’t pose risks to your stucco. You should avoid attaching anything to your stucco that could fall because it’s too heavy, which may take part of the stucco with it. Some methods, like using double-sided tape or adhesive hooks, will naturally wear out over time and lead to falling lights, so don’t expect to leave these lights up year-round.

Christmas light cords are long, thin, and flexible—which makes them exceptionally prone to tangling. As you try to untangle the very merry mess, the light bulbs and sockets may catch on the cords, making it even harder to pull cords through the knots.

There aren’t many alternative methods to hanging Christmas lights on fascia without using clips. But if you don’t have fascia clips to hang your Christmas lights, you can use clothespins in a pinch. To do this, hold the strand of lights in place and clip it in place with the clothespin. Using nails or staples is never a good idea, as they can damage your fascia.

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.
