"Excellent job!!! Very professional team members. All the guys were super friendly and respectful. They left the work area better than they found it. We would and will highly recommend them again and use them for other services."

"My experience with B&C Irrigations was very professional. Ben assessed my problems and provided recommendations and solutions to solve my water flow problems. The work crew was prompt and professional despite the changes to the gutters since the original estimate. The gutter connection, drainage pipes, and French drain were installed satisfactorily. The grass sod was placed in bare spots and the area was cleaned upon completion of all work. The crew was gracious enough to stack the extra sod inside the fence so that I could place it in other bare spouts as needed. Good job! The Clarkes'"

"Crawl space encapsulation appears to have achieved desired goals (so far). Project completion dates extended - twice. Communication post project was vague and unnecessarily difficult. Bid was materially higher than competitors but, the promise of premium service closed the deal Service was not **premium** Cannot recommend."

"I purchased this landscape design package through Groupon. They came to my house three times: the first was to get an idea of what I wanted and to take photos of and measure the areas. They showed me the images during the second visit and asked if they needed to be changed. I received a quote for the work during the third visit, as well as digital images. They did not pressure me into purchasing landscape services and were very good about telling me which services should be performed by other companies because it would be less expensive to do so.

French Drains questions, answered by experts

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.

While technically possible, it is unlikely that a clogged toilet will fix itself. Clogs caused by water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water, allowing flow to resume. However, this can take time, and any clogs from solid objects require manual removal. In most scenarios, especially if you don't have another bathroom, it is best to fix the clog yourself or call a plumber.

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.

If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen. If the hot water trick doesn’t also unfreeze the washing machine pipes, you can gently apply heat with a hair dryer on the lowest setting. Start at the end of the pipe closest to the faucet to prevent pressure from building in the pipes, and make sure the faucet is open to drain the water as it melts.

Anything you drop down your sink runs the risk of damaging and clogging your pipes. Hair, bits of food, and other debris can catch on the item and build up over time, causing a clog. Even if it’s not valuable, it’s definitely worth trying to retrieve the item, or at the very least, asking a pro for specific advice.
