"Hired to repair stained glass windows of our church. Excellent knowledge in this area. The windows were cracked, separating and in deteriorating condition. The workmanship/ repairs exceed my expectations. The customer service was very good - on time and met all commitments. Highly recommended."

Small jobs welcome

"I was very pleased with their work. They fixed my workshop which was needing to have all walls and roof replaced due to age and rotting. But they also fixed a couple of other small items which were not part of the oiginal contract, at no charge. How often does that happen! The job turned out to be much more extensive than planned due to hidden termite damage in the walls which then had to be replaced. They took it all in good measure and fixed it like new."

Glass Block Windows questions, answered by experts

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.

DIY is possible for small projects, but professional installation ensures proper sealing, structural integrity, and a precise finish.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Their thickness depends on application, but most glass walls are typically 3/8 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Although it’s not as common, single panes of glass can also be 1 inch thick.

Glass block mortar is the best choice for glass block window units. It is specifically formulated for glass block window installation. Glass block mortar is usually a mixture of Portland cement, sand, and special chemicals. It is a white mortar that is applicable inside and outside your home. Do not use regular tile mortar because it may not have the binding strength and flexibility required for glass block windows.
