Small jobs welcome

My name is Daniel Hood, owner of HoodTechSolutions LLC. I’ve always been the person friends, family, and neighbors call when something won’t connect, won’t print, won’t sync, or just won’t behave. Over time, that passion turned into a full‑service tech support business built on trust, professionalism, and genuine care for the people I serve.

"From the time Matt showed up at my house to provide an estimate to the completion of our roofing project, I have been completely impressed with Prime Management professionalism, quality and service. They exceeded my expectations in terms of finished work and left my yard and driveway cleaner than when they came. They excelled in their communication. Their team was friendly and man were they hard working. They put in 12 hour days to get the job done. Also, with a job this large, you always expect some issue or a hidden charge here and there or something - there was none of that, there bill reflected the estimate provided. I highly recommend this company - you will be impressed with their work."

"I am pleased with the final product, but the process to get there wasn't always what I expected. Several things we had to ask to be redone/improved, and they were. Working at the beginning of COVID season, so he was struggling to have a full work crew. I would use him again, but would ask him to develop a highly planned schedule so I wouldn't wonder he was *just winging it" The final product was great, but I did have some stress and worry along the way."

"My 80 year old mother had roof damage after the recent storms.  She's very leery of insurance companies and contractors, however, the claims specialist from Ageless Exteriors put her at ease and answered her questions in detail.  They handled the claim from start to finish and were there every step of the way to get a new roof and gutters installed.  Appreciated their professionalism and thoroughness and would definitely use them again"

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

Your gate should be 3/4 to an inch smaller than the opening. The opening size that you need for your gate can vary depending on your hinge type. You may also need to add reinforcing braces if the gap between your gate and the fence is not uniform from top to bottom.

Thieves can open almost anything with enough time and the right tools, but they also prefer easy targets that are unlikely to get them caught. Forcing open gates is loud and difficult, and to be able to open one electronically requires extensive knowledge of the system, which most thieves don't have. Electric and other security gates are great deterrents because the thief will move to an easier target. If the thief is determined to enter your property, they will most likely find a different entrance point.

While spring gates close gently but firmly, they’re not a foolproof solution for securing your yard to prevent pets or kids from escaping or unwanted guests from entering. Installing a gate latch that is sturdy and lockable with a self-closing mechanism is more effective, especially when used alongside other methods for keeping your home safe, such as cameras or motion detectors.

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

Fence gates sag because they have no support on the latch side of the gate to help hold them aloft. A gate wheel fixes that problem by providing support for that latch side. Remember that the ground must be level in front of the gate so the wheel can roll freely when you open and close it. If the terrain is uneven or slopes, a gate wheel won’t work.
