"Excellent work. I reached out to them through Angi. They responded the same day and arrived at my home in just a few hours to estimate a new driveway. Their bid was very competitive and even 40% less than another companyâ  s. In less than a week they arrived when they said they would and installed a new driveway. It wasnâ  t a huge job, but the driveway was about as long as a football field. They completed the installation all in the same day. The work was top notch provided by professionals. I could not have asked for better."

"Very professional with lots of discussion to make sure the plan was clear and they knew exactly what we wanted. This was an addition to the driveway with the added removal of two nearby stumps. They did exactly what they said and did the work quickly. I was impressed. I have recommended them to a friend already."

"The job was performed meticulously, professionally, and timely. The driveway is perfect and they sowed grass seeds covered with straw to replenish disturbed areas. I absolutely recommend their services."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

A solid driveway starts with the right asphalt mix, and for most homes, dense-graded hot mix asphalt (HMA) is the most recommended. It’s both durable and flexible, making it a reliable choice for residential use. A properly compacted 2-3 inch layer on a well-prepared crushed stone base will hold up for years. In areas with harsh winters or scorching summers, a slightly modified mix can help prevent cracking and rutting. No matter the climate, quality installation is just as important as the material itself, so hiring an experienced contractor ensures a smooth, long-lasting driveway built to last.

Instead of a set number of types, asphalt comes in variations designed for different needs. Some are categorized by temperature—hot mix, warm mix, and cold mix. Others are sorted by composition, like dense-graded, gap-graded (such as Stone Matrix Asphalt), porous, and mastic asphalt. There are also modified versions with added compounds like polymers, rubber, or emulsions. Instead of focusing on a number, it may be more useful to understand how contractors customize asphalt for durability, climate, and traffic conditions.

Sometimes, when people talk about asphalt driveways, they’re actually referring to asphalt concrete, which is a completely different compound. Asphalt concrete is asphaltic cement combined with sand or grit. It is significantly more lasting and durable than regular asphalt but also much more expensive. If you’re considering using asphalt concrete, ask an asphalt company for their expert opinions.

Yes, recycled asphalt driveway costs can be substantially lower than new asphalt. With new asphalt costing between $90 and $190 per ton, this option can cost as much as 10 times more than laying down asphalt millings.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.
