You’ll want to finish butcher block countertops with a food-safe sealant. Mineral oil and tung oil are great options for a velvety, matte finish. No, you don’t have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can stay right where they are, making the process quicker, cleaner, and less disruptive.

You attach solid surface counters with construction adhesive. Once your slab is ready, you fit it to the wall, apply the adhesive, and secure it in place with clamps until the glue dries. This usually takes several days. 

Afterward, you install the backsplash, faucets, and more. At this point, you can caulk the counter, allow it to dry for 24 hours, and then you're done with the installation.
