Installing new door locks every seven years can make a home safer and possibly earn you a home insurance discount. Here’s how much it costs to change a lock.
After making an appointment I spoke with my husband and found out we would be purchasing new hardware for the doors and he (my husband) wasn't sure he would have it installed in time for the appointment. I called Northstar Locksmith back to reschedule, expecting them to be a bit annoyed, but they were not.
They did ask the reason for my having to reschedule and when I explained the new hardware they said that I could bring in the hardware to be rekeyed (saving the service call fee for them driving to Eagle River) or I could look at the number on box of the hardware and match them all up, which would ensure that the hardware we bought all used the same key (there by eliminating the need for the service of a locksmith).
Personally, I think it shows real integrity to let a potential customer, and source of income, know that they could avoid the use of your service by purchasing a product carefully. I would definitely recommend this company and if we ever have use of a locksmith in the future, these guys are already in my cell phone as the ones to call.

I was able to gain entry into the house via the back patio door using my house key and tried to open the door into the garage from inside. Being a Friday night and after 6 pm I was quoted the emergency weekend rate by several locksmiths, most starting at $80 and charging an additional service call fee. One couldn't come out until the next day. I initially thought I could wait until Monday for the lower rates but realized how often I would need access into the garage and I would have had to go out the back patio door and open the garage door using the key pad. I called Pop-A-Lock who was able to send someone within the hour, and I had called before their weekend rates kicked in. The locksmith did arrive within the hour and replaced the door latch. Total cost $70."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/or/portland/pop-a-lock-reviews-313159.htm"},"position":3}]}
Changing grade to D.Lock was not opening properly. Was locked out several times. Don did return on a Sun and worked on lock for 2 hours, changing parts, which was probably not a good idea, and then going back to original. Just don't think this was professional. Never had problem like this...
I called Northstar Locksmiths as we just purchased a new home and would like to have the three exterior doors rekeyed to the same key. I spoke with Steven when I called, he was not overly chatty (which i appreciate) while giving me prices and reasons for them. The costs all seemed...
