I had tried boiling water and Liquid Plumber, but neither of them worked, so I called Hugo Plumbing, which we had used earlier in the year. Once again they came out the same day, even though it had snowed heavily the night before. Mike and Dave brought in a big machine and put it into the drain under the sink. They took their time cleaning out the drain so that it would clear the entire diameter of the pipe. They explained that since we had been gone so long, the gunk in the pipe might have dried and worsened the blockage. The toilet tank in the bathroom leaked all of the water out during the course of the night and wouldn't flush until the lever was depressed and the tank filled back up, so they fixed that. Mike and Dave were very careful and cleaned up nicely after themselves "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/mn/forest-lake/hugo-plumbing-and-pump-service-reviews-102297.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"All Ways Drains Ltd","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"MN","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Seth M."},"reviewBody":"The plumber's name that worked on my drain was Wes. He came in the house the first time with paperwork and inspection tools. He came down to the basement to look at the clogged floor drain. I used a sump pump to clear the standing water so he could see the drain. He told me what needed to be done in detail and had me sign the paperwork authorizing him to clear the clogged drain. I signed it while he went to his truck to retrieve the snake. He brought the snake downstairs and plugged it in. He changed the bit on the snake to a clogchopper bit. He sent the snake into the drain and clearly identified where the clog was. He used the bit for several minutes before pulling it back up to try another bit. He attached an angled scraper bit and was able to get through the clog. The water was now draining and he spent several minutes running water through the drain and moving the snake through the length of the drain. Wes once again attached the clogchopper bit but was not able to get it through the drain. However, water was clearly flowing and the clog appeared to be gone so he stopped using the snake. He returned the snake to his truck and came back with a drain inspection camera. He moved the camera slowly through the length of the drain making sure there was no damage or remaining clogs. Wes returned the equipment to him truck while I printed the coupon and searched for my checkbook. Wes was very thorough but did not waste time. He appeared to double check everything (especially during the camera inspection) and made sure the drain was working well before he left. I have worked on this drain a number of times in the past. I had a lot of experience and asked a lot of questions. Wes answered every question and appreciated the fact that I was interested in what was going on. I almost called a different company before this one based on a recommendation from someone. That company had horrible reviews on Angie's List so I decided not to. Instead I looked at the ratings for the different drain cleaning services and All Ways stuck out so I took a chance. I hired Joseph's Drain Cleaning to clean out my main waste drain in April 2020. I was not there when they cleaned the drain but was told that it was "good to go". A couple of months later I put the property on the market. During the inspection, the buyers put a camera down into the main drain...
The drain hadn't been cleaned in many years, was clogged with years of grease. Zack arrived on time and got the job done. Very professional. Made sure everything was draining properly. Cleaned up and didn't leave a mess.

"Shane, the plumber, cleared the drain clog. He was friendly, on time, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. Shane estimated it would take an hour and it took only about half an hour. I was then charged a ridiculous $830. I feel I was way overcharged and am not happy with this. I do not recommend Dean's Home Services."

"As a person in the plumbing trades both new construction and service work I have come to appreciate the skills of someone who does a craft full time and is encouraged to develop skills to make it “their” full time occupation and career. Drain cleaning is part of maintaining a plumbing system. It is a craft different than installing and repairing plumbing but it is just as important to do it correctly. The other values in McDonough’s services are several having the equipment and personnel trained and available is paramount to this no matter how big a job has gotten they have never stopped until it was completed! The other feature that is not fully understood by many is that it is always best to use someone that has only one purpose in mind and that is to get the drain cleaned and inspected and has no reason to up sell you on some repairs or replacement that you don’t need. That why we use them as a plumbing company and recommend them to our valued clients. Great company that invests in training, retaining and having the equipment that their service people need to be efficient, productive and provide the services that they are being relied on to provide."

You deserve a safe and reliable home. Get the job done right the first time with outstanding customer service from the Twin Cities top rated electrician. Outlets, fans, lighting, smoke detectors, switches, and service panels. Your full service electrician.
"I hired Randy’s to fix a recurring electrical issue that was cutting power to the upper floor of my home, and to install two new circuits, work completed over two visits about a week apart. The new circuits seem to work fine, but the original issue persists—despite spending over $5,000, including $1,000+ on diagnostics. The electrician spent about 45 minutes on the initial assessment, then replaced some wiring and breakers. The problem reoccurred before the second visit, which I reported by phone, but he was unaware of it when he arrived. He did minimal follow-up, blamed CFL bulbs, and later suggested the issue might be with outlet or switch connections—something I believe should have been checked from the start. The issue has since returned again, and after three follow-up calls in three days, I’ve received no response. On the positive side, the crew was professional, worked in a difficult attic space, and cleaned up well. Still, I expected better troubleshooting, communication, and post-service support for what I paid."

"He brought an assistant who was the driver and the main issue was how many steps he would have to take to get to my property and they would not remove shoes. I say this to illustrate the age issue of Gary accepting this work...he is very old..I am 90 yrs and consider myself to be pretty old, but Gary is Really old and he indicated that he fixed the problem..mostly by using Plumber's Putty around the base. No mention of the ring being a problem..which was only three years old, the age of the toilet. The toilet started wobbling again two days later and the awful looking brown plumber's putty was seeping out looking just terrible!!! I have a nice bathroom with a walk in shower, new toilet and to have this brown creepy stuff coming out of the toilet base is too terrible AND I paid him $280.00 for this!! I cannot dispute this charge as he requested a check to avoid having to pay the 3% charge by the credit card company so I wrote a check ..not knowing this putty was going to be on the floor next to the toilet ..almost before he could cash the check!! I feel that I was robbed and I think calling Angie was the biggest mistake!! Angie should be aware of the credentials and qualifications of the persons coming into our homes to prevent this charade and robbery of my $280.00. I don't get any satisfaction in knowing that all Angie can do for me is table him with a bad review. Mr. Lindman offered to come back so I asked him what more he would do if coming back and he replied something that was going to take a lot of work. I did not understand what that was. He accused me of yelling at he so I gave him wan example of a real yell to let him know I wasn't yelling and that started him off. He cursed at me and the call ended."

FAQs for drain cleaning projects in Saint Paul, MN
On average, a plumber will take 30 minutes to two hours to clear a clogged drain. If the clog is located close to the drain or an access point and isn’t severe, the project will take about half an hour. If the clog is deep within your plumbing system or is a severe blockage, it can take two or more hours to remove the clog. For this reason, main line clogs tend to take longer, usually between two and three hours.
It’s possible to snake minor drain clogs yourself, provided they sit within a foot or two of the drain itself, but it’s usually best to hire a professional plumber regardless. Even experienced DIYers have a high chance of accidentally pushing the clog further into the drain using a drain snake or another tool, so hiring a plumber is the ideal course of action. A professional plumber can use camera equipment to locate and identify the clog, and remove the entire blockage to fix your issue permanently.
In most areas, drain cleaning professionals don’t technically need a license, as they aren’t altering your plumbing system in any way. However, we recommend hiring a drain cleaning professional with a plumbing license and certification. Certified plumbers are more likely to provide professional solutions to drain clogs without damaging your system. They’ll also have the diagnostic tools and experience necessary to remove the clog entirely rather than providing a temporary solution, as a handyperson might. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to check your plumber’s professional licenses before hiring.
Applying drain cleaner is a common DIY solution to clogged drains, but it can be extremely harmful to your pipes and lead to corrosion and leaks. It is almost always better to try snaking a clog than using a drain cleaner, but the best solution is to hire a professional plumber. They can locate the clog and gauge the severity using a camera system and then decide if using a plumber’s snake, auger, or drain cleaner is the best option to remove the clog and limit damage to your plumbing system.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Hiring a professional to snake the toilet or sink will usually cost between $110 and $275, a bathtub or shower typically costs around $225, and a main line clog can cost between $100 and $800 based on the severity of the clog and how far beyond the access point the clog sits. Since the labor involved varies, most plumbers will charge an hourly rate for drain cleaning.
