This is the third time we have hired this company to do work for us and have been extremely happy every time. Communication is prompt and the work is completed professionally and on time. I also appreciate supporting a local businessman Would definitely recommend Hoffman.

  • Easter Fence, Deck & Renovations
Great. They told me it might be 3 months until they could do it, but in about 3 weeks they came and put it up. Really satisfied with it.

  • Fence and Deck Depot
Great over-all experience with Fence and Deck Depot from the initial estimate to fence installation. Salesman was very knowledge about their fence products and did not pressure to buy. Office staff kept us well informed about the fence installation scheduling. The crew did a excellent job installing the fence and before they left washed down the vinyl fence and completely cleaned up the yard. A few weeks after the install we noticed one gate needed tweaking. They came the very next day and made the adjustment. The quality of their vinyl fence material is well above any other company we received bids from. We would highly recommend this company

  • Fence and Deck Depot
From start to finish we had good service. We had some amazing guys that installed the fence. They worked very hard to get the job done and they were very nice. I had to call the office sometime later about my gate and received a quick response. I also referred two of my daughters there for their fences

  • Triton Exteriors
Great experience and great quality! We had an old chainlink fence removed and a new fence installed that was partially wood privacy and partially black chainlink. We received great communication throughout the process and the crew who installed the fence was thorough and easy to work with. Very happy with the fence and would absolutely use them again

  • Easter Fence, Deck & Renovations
The degree of difficulty was high, given the design and existing conditions that had to be worked around. Jimmie bid the work promptly and accurately. The bid detailed fence specs, and Ricardo and his crew carried them out perfectly. Ricardo is a master craftsman and creative problem-solver. He and Jimmie were a joy to work with. The first load of cedar included a high percentage of flawed boards. A lesser company might have tried to use them anyway, especially because supply was scarce. Holland rejected the bad boards before we could and ordered more. They listened to our wants, kept their word, kept us informed and delivered top quality at a fair price. A superb experience

  • Lake Ozark Remodel and Construction
Barry is one of the hardest workers I know. He relocated our fence exactly where we wanted it, agreed to some additional changes we made along the way,, and got all the work done in a timely manner and done RIGHT. It's clear he is extremely knowledgeable about his craft and has multiple sources to ensure he has the materials you need. We're already planning to have him back for additional work at our home

  • Bizzy Beaver Contracting
Chris with Bizzy Beaver has been AMAZING. We have hired them for 3 separate projects in the last year after purchasing our first home. We initially used them when we adopted a rescue dog and needed to get a 6ft privacy fence built ASAP. Chris and his team completed this quickly and did a great job. We then had Chris build custom cabinet doors, drawer boxes, and drawer fronts to update our kitchen in time for an event at our house! He made sure to complete the project on time, and the kitchen looks amazing and like a totally new kitchen! Chris also helped represent us to our insurance company while helping us file our claim after a major hail storm. Tim and Chris explained everything in depth and made the process as easy as possible for us. They met with the insurance adjuster to ensure all damages were assessed correctly, which was a huge help since we are first time homeowners and had never had to do that before. Bizzy Beaver is always reliable, on time, personable, and makes sure everything is completed correctly. Chris and his team are so easy to work with - I would definitely recommend using them for any of your home improvement projects!

Fencing FAQ

  1. How much does it cost to install a fence?

Answer: The average cost to install a fence is $2,600. A variety of factors will impact the overall cost of fencing installation, such as the length of the fence, the materials you choose, and local labor costs. Fencing projects using the lowest cost materials and with lower labor costs can cost as little as $1 to $6 per linear foot, while projects using the highest cost materials and with higher labor costs may be as high as $15 to $45.

  2. Do I need a permit to build a fence around a yard?

Answer: Whether you’ll need a permit to build a fence around your yard will depend on your city or county's local codes. Many metropolitan and suburban areas require a permit to install most fencing, but they may not for fences situated behind a house as opposed to in front of it or fences that don’t run within a certain distance of the road. To find out if you’ll need a permit to fence your yard, reach out directly to your local government office.

  3. What is the cheapest fence to install?

Answer: The cheapest fencing to install is chain-link fencing. Chain-link fencing is typically cheaper than other fence types because the materials cost less, and installation is generally quicker and easier than other options. Chain-link fencing is affordable, easy to install, and low maintenance. However, it’s usually considered less secure than other options and doesn’t increase resale value as much as fences made of different materials.

  4. Is a wood or vinyl fence cheaper?

Answer: Wood fences are generally cheaper than the cost of vinyl fences. While the cost of materials for wood and vinyl fences is usually very similar, the labor cost associated with installing a vinyl fence is higher. Wood fencing is also easier to install than vinyl fencing, making it possible to save money by making wood fence installation a DIY project. It’s also possible to DIY install a vinyl fence.

  5. What is the life expectancy of a vinyl fence?

Answer: Vinyl fencing can be expected to last between 10 and 30 years. Vinyl fencing is generally low maintenance, but proper care will ensure it lasts as long as possible. Its long life span and high return on investment make vinyl fencing a popular option for many homeowners.

  6. What type of fence adds to the property value?

Answer: Installing quality fencing, no matter the fence type, will generally add value to your property. In general, fences made of longer-lasting, lower-maintenance, and more attractive materials—like wrought-iron, composite, or vinyl—add more value to a property than fences made of lower-cost or less attractive materials, like chain-link. To ensure your fencing adds as much value to your home as possible, be sure it’s properly permitted, approved by your homeowners association (if you have one), and installed properly.
