RenovateRepair.comThe owner, Susan Prenatt, was personable and kept us informed with timely updates of what was being done and what her crew planned to accomplish each day as weather permitted. Communication was straight-forward and excellent; She was responsive to all questions and our desires. After removing old siding, the outside wall insulation was covered with plastic sheeting to protect from rain-water, which never touched any of the “exposed” exterior wall insulation. At all times, our property was kept tidy and construction materials were well organized. The workmen were courteous, efficient and professional. They provided us with a high-quality finished product, inside and out. A few minor final touch-ups were handled well in a timely manner. Overall, the team did an excellent job and we are very pleased with all of the work.- William A.

Mojo Smart HomeWe needed some motorized shades for our living room area, so that we didn't have to constantly raise and lower them every morning and night. Mojo came out with fabric books and samples, and took all the measurements. We had gotten a price from the Lutron website already, but Mojo met that price, plus they did all the measurements and installation for us. We would definitely use them again!- Nita K.

BUDGET BLINDS & INSPIRED DRAPESI will never recommend nor use Budget Blinds again. When your salesperson came and measured, I thought I was paying for the entire job, yet he had not included three windows that we had specified and that he had already measured. This oversight was not noticed until the workers came to install and I questioned why these windows were not included. The only reply was that it would be nearly another $800 (after a discount) to have them done. When I swiped my card initially, I thought it was for ALL measured windows. So, in essence the job was more expensive than I had imagined. Certainly not "budget" at all. I also was not impressed with the worker's installation, as I had to go back and point out a few things that needed to be fixed - scratches, holes drilled in wrong areas, smudges of dirt, etc. Not to mention a cracked window. While what was installed are fine, I was able to install on my own the three missed windows and they came out nicer and better.- Miguel B.

American Craftsmen of NCI needed to get new siding and called around for several bids. A couple of bigger companies came out and I felt like they were talking down to me because I was a single female. One owner was even trying to make me feel I had made a big mistake when I had decided not to go with his company who had a fancy showroom. He even warned me about accepting the job from someone who worked without a showroom. When Rodney came to give his estimate, he gave the impression that he was just looking to get the job and I felt like I was treated like any other person. He sent Mike and Mike to come and install the windows and then they stayed to do all the trim and siding, and finally gutters were put up. The whole event took 2 weeks and fit exactly in the time line we set up. Mike and Mike were great and did such a good job. The trim work is remarkable and the guys did amazing work. They were very nice--answered any questions I had, didn't mind if people watched them work, spoke with any neighbors who stopped by who were curious. I felt comfortable leaving them alone to work when I had to leave the house. Rodney came out every day to make sure that I was happy with the work and addressed any minor concerns I had during the process. He called before the work started and after it was completed to check in. Any minor problems that came up he quickly fixed. Even though I was very stressed at the beginning of the job (did I hire the right person, did I choose the right colors, products) once all the materials started to arrive and the work began I was very glad I picked the contractor that I did. There was never any doubt in my mind Rodney would not resolve any minor problems that came up. The final price was exactly what the estimate said (and was the best price!) and he only got paid when I was happy with the completed work.- Petrina B.

Carolina Blind Crafters: Blinds, Shades, ShuttersCannot speak enough great things about Carolina Blind Crafters (they do an awesome job with "smart" shades that connect to Alexa!). Sarah and Ben were a pleasure to work with. This was our first new home, and we had no idea where to start when it came to installing window treatments. I didn't even know they were called window treatments, lol. Anyways -- we had several people come, take measurements, and then deliver quotes for the scope of the work. Their pricing was competitive, but one of the main reasons we went with them and not others was how responsive they were, and how great their Angies reviews were. It seemed like if any issues arose later, they would get addressed. We have had our smart shades (which connect to Alexa!), shutters, and blinds in for about 3 months now, and we couldn't be happier. We noticed one of the blinds had a small dent, and Ben went ahead and ordered a new one for us without any questions asked. We have had random follow up questions with them and they have always answered within 24 hours via email or text. Absolutely great company to work with. Also -- their wood shutter option is made just a few states away, which was really cool.- Ilti H.

We had an excellent experience getting a new roof with JTC about six years ago, and to be fair I meant to jump on and write a very positive review then. However, we've since had some serious water damage along one section of eaves / soffit, to the point where we've now had water run down through our wall/flooring and into our HVAC ducts. I've emailed twice and called but haven't gotten any response at all. At this point, I'll try someone else, but I did have a very positive initial impression and would have thought that JTC would have at least come out to take a look at the problem for me.

He was onsite for 2 days and did the following for us: installed ceiling fan, assembled & installed laundry room cabinets, entryway bench & coat rack, hung wall decoration, etc. He worked independently, but consulted with us often as to placement and preferences.
