  Ms. Hughes was absolutely wonderful. We have prior remodel experience and were somewhat jaded going into the process. We completely gutted the kitchen in our 1930s era house and rebuilt it from the studs up. During the entire process, I was impressed with Ms. Hughes' enthusiasm for the project. She gave us a formal presentation of the design with 3 options for the finishes, after several meetings with me and my husband to get a feel for what our and quot;styleand quot; and wants/needs were. We actually ended up using elements from several of her options, and she worked with us until we were very happy with all the finishes. I felt like her main concern was that I was happy and comfortable with the final product, which I think is a rare and valuable quality in a designer. Before the project began, she scheduled all the subcontractors so that our house would be torn up for the minimum amount of time, which I greatly appreciated since we have a young daughter. While it's impossible to stick to a schedule exactly on any project, Ms. Hughes was constantly adjusting the schedule and making every effort to keep the project moving while not sacrificing on quality. Her accessibility and attention to detail were excellent. She was absolutely tireless in making sure that our interests were represented with each subcontractor, and in keeping me informed about pertinent details regarding the day to day progress.   Four years ago, Marble Designs did our kitchen, powder bath counter top, and a tub deck. We loved how beautifully our granite counter tops turned out, and enjoyed working with them so much, that when we decided it was time to update our Master bath, my husband immediately suggested turning to them again for the bathroom counter top. The people at Marble Designs are just wonderful, extremely knowledgeable about their products and associated materials, and provide excellent customer service. The owner and designer listened to my objective for the project, helped me choose the perfect material for the counter top, and coordinating stone style and color choices, to compliment some already existing granite we wanted to keep around the tub. In addition, the owner provided me some additional assistance and guidance regarding complimentary paint colors, and other accessory hardware issues. After our product selection and initial estimate, a representative came out to measure and template our counter top, and then on installation day, the crew was polite, in and out quickly, the product was meticulously installed, and they left the place spotless! We absolutely love our new bathroom, and our new counter tops beautifully compliment and flow with the new room design and the other materials, transitioning the room into a more desirable and updated look! I know a lot of people in my neighborhood have used Marble Designs, and throughout town, and I've never heard anything other than complimentary, no matter the size, or expense of the job.   We were trying to open our own sushi restaurant in Edmond, we loves very chic and contemporary design but we have very little budget to work with and there wasn't a lot of Architectural firm like to work with us because the style we want. They help us to sketch up our idea and help us for budget, friendly and willing to help us at any aspects. They show up some visual 3D design so we don't need to imagine what we will get. They are very resourceful.... although we didn't use the construction company they suggested but they still vert patient to work with our own contractorshow more

  Overall we had a very good experience with Yellowstone Lumber's drafting service. We live out of state and wanted to get blueprints made, however the going rate for drafting her seemed quite high. Besides that we wanted a home with an ICF basement. Basements are very uncommon in our area and we wanted to use a designer with extensive basement experience. Some relatives who live in the local area in Idaho recommended Yellowstone Lumber. We gave our sketches to Darin to work with. He did a very good job and designing the home we envisioned. He made some very good suggestions to improve design and cut cost yet still maintained our vision. The finished blueprints were all computer generated and were neat and professional. The man at the building permit office was impressed. Better yet, the price of the blueprints was more than half of what we had quoted from local draftsmen/designers. We actually never saw Darin face to face. We handled all correspondence over the phone and via email. The final product was excellent, however sometimes communication was a problem. The email system Yellowstone Lumber used would sometimes not let our emails and attachments through and sometimes we didn't get correspondence sent from our designer. We worked around this by always calling to confirm that correspondence got through. The project also took longer than we had originally been quoted. Apparently the fall is the busiest time of the year for drafting blueprints in SE Idaho. We would have liked to get the plans sooner, however we wanted the final product to be done right no matter how long it took. I would recommend using Yellowstone Lumber's drafting services if you are looking for bargain for blueprints. They have done drafted building blueprints for clients all around the world. You don't need to see them face to face. If you are not in a big hurry they can give you great plans for a great priceshow more

  We found Karen Black and her staff to be very professional. Her detailed proposal / bid for the job was very clear. Her drawings of the design work to be performed were like artwork. From demo to completion the services were as we expected and communication was very good. Karen's staff were completely trustworthy and we had no problem with her firm having a key to our home and access at anytime. Clean up was performed everyday and especially going into weekends. We had an extensive "wish list" and Karen did everything possible to make that happen. Any items over and above the project cost were invoiced with detail information and paid for as the work was completed. The final project turned out even better than expected. She remained true to the historic integrity of the home with very modern and user friendly detail. The work could easily be featured in any design publication!
