- Universe Home ServicesWe had continuous water leaking from the bottom of our Sub-Zero refrigerator. I called Universe in the morning and they were very responsive. The techinican was at my house as promised between 1p.m.-3p.m. The issue was diagnosed immediately. The technician needed to order a drain line heater part which would be installed the next day. I recieved a call the next day to install the ordered part. The technician arrived as the time I was told, and the ordered part was installed. We were very impressed with Universe. They were very punctual and courteous. I would call Universe for any other needs and recommend them
- Universe Home ServicesI had a great experience with Universe. We converted an ancient oil system to gas. As promised, Universe coordinated gas line installation and all other major facets of the conversion. All I had to do was submit the rebate form. I should start by saying that this was not an easy conversion. They did it in the middle of an awful July heat wave. There was trouble removing the original burner. And, we had a steam return line that was routed through the legs of our oil tank. The return line was cut and re-routed so that it would hug the wall and remain out of sight. They did have to return a second time to complete the installation due to the return line and also due to poor placement of the burner. After being asked to tuck the burner into the back corner, the first crew did the opposite and placed the burner and water heater so that they effectively cut off a 3 x 3 corner of my basement, rendering it inaccessible and useless. The burner also blocked a wall where i intended to place a door to a storage area. I called and explained the situation. They sent a manager named Tim right away. Tim looked at the work and explained that it would be a tight fit to arrange the systems as I wanted. He then arranged to have a second crew come in and do the work at no extra charge. The second crew came and did an excellent job. The unit was tucked away right where i envisioned it and I can now put in the door I wanted

- Seemore TV & Appliance CenterI have always been a proponent of dealing with local companies and avoiding the big box stores. We went to SeeMore and purchased a stackable Electrolux washer & dryer in late Nov and received delivery in Dec. The first 60 days or so were fine. Then the problems started.... After about 2 months, the dryer stopped working. The drum assembly had to be replaced. That took several weeks from beginning to end. Now, just into the 5th month since delivery, the washing machine is down. Electrolux has sent 2 differnet service companies that diagnosed the problem as a cracked outer drum but both refused to fix it. It is too big a job and the washer should be replaced. Electrolux sent a 3rd company that was scheduled to fix the washer, but only showed up only prepared to diagnose the problem. Again, for the 3rd time. The washer has been down now for 4 weeks and we are looking at another 3 weeks for just the parts before it can even get scheduled for a teardown/rebuild with a new drum. Since the very first signs of an issue, we conacted SeeMore. Their only response was to give us Electrolux's service number, along with some local service companies numbers, and pointed us to the door. They wanted NOTHING to do with helping us get the problems fixed. We are on our own, and you will be too if/when anything goes wrong

"The technician checked door seals and other components. He indicated that the automatic open feature of the door was faulty and I should contact them if I wanted to have it replaced. After defrosting the refrigerator, I disabled that feature and it was working well. Recently, the fan has been making occasional noises, so I made another service appointment. When the technician arrived, of course there was no noise. He checked it thoroughly and said it is working fine, but to record the noise if it happens again and contact them for service. In both cases, the technician was professional, thorough and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. I would use this service again.

"When my 6 year old Miele dishwasher stopped running, I was quite surprised, given that company's sterling reputation for quality and consistently very high ratings in Consumer Reports. And I was even more surprised at how difficult it was to find an appliance dealer that would take off a custom panel and then reinstall it. The kitchen renovation company that I had bought the Miele from referred me to their appIiance supplier, but I was reluctant to buy another Miele and didn't trust that this company would give me reliable information about a new purchase. I had a couple of false starts, including talking to a salesperson at a major NY Metro appliance dealer who made it sound like there wouldn't be any problem dealing with the panel. Turns out, it was absolutely a problem - no go..
<br /> After looking over numerous reviews and making many phone calls, I ended up calling Drimmers, which is the appliance company that I my kitchen renovation company had referred me to at the beginning of this search! It's not clear that Drimmers was the company in place when I redid my kitchen, and in any event, they aren't responsible for Miele quality, but they treated me as if I had been a customer at the time.
<br /> My contact at Drimmers was Isaac, and he was extremely helpful from initial contact to post-installation questions. I explained my problem to him and then asked about other brands that might meet my needs, including accommodating the custom panel. Isaac told me that he would look into the custom panel issue and that he would get back to me as soon as he had an answer. Not an hour later, I heard from him - Drimmers would have no problem replacing the panel on a Miele. Whether they could do so on another (equally expensive) brand, probably not, explaining that it would be risky to buy another brand - there was no guarantee that the panel would fit - but he was certain that a Miele would accept the panel since the company configured the doors of their built-ins the same way over the years so they could accept panels.
<br /> As Isaac had promised, and after doing some juggling to meet my schedule, the dishwasher was delivered and installed on the day I requested a little over a week later. . The installers were very good about calling ahead as their time window narrowed. While installing it, they explained why the previous dishwasher had probably died (computer board affected by water dripping off my counter top) and how the new model would avoid that problem. They were fast, efficient and clean in their work.
<br /> A few days later, after a very quick review of the dishwasher manual, I had some questions, left a message for Isaac, and heard back promptly. The dishwasher is even quieter than my old one, the panel fits perfectly, and the door closes shut without any pressure, thus avoiding the dripping water issue.
