The work was expensive, but I think very reasonably priced given the high risk -- I certainly wouldn't be willing to get up on a steep roof covered in ice and snow on a cold January day. I hope to avoid ice dams in the future (Dave gave me recommendations on how to do this) but if it occurs again I wouldn't hesitate to call Dave again

These guys had a coupon for $300 for an hour of snow removal. I paid for it, and this morning I called them to see when I could get service. I was just hoping for some time this week, as they were all so busy that MANY of the people I called had full in-boxes on their phones and I was unable to leave a message. I called just at the right time, they had just had a cancellation, and this morning, when everyone in the twin cities, it seemed, needed snow removal help, I got some. They were here at 11 and I had to leave for an appointment. The owner was here to talk to me and make sure they did what I wanted, and I told them to just take the snow off the roof. I thought the few ice dams I had would melt into my gutters because of the crazy warm weather. I got back at 12:30 and everything was done, the roof was perfectly cleaned off and they even kept snow off my stairs and walkway. They saved me a lot of leaking windows and did a great job. I looked down my block and I was the only house with no snow on the roof. It was awesome

- Patrick Miller Construction IncI thought I had a roof problem when water began pooling at the foot of a wall in my house. I quickly scanned Angie's List for a well reviewed local roofing company and came across Patrick Miller Construction. Lucky I did. A little before his close of business time (6PM) I'd managed to leave messages on both Patrick's numbers and sent an email via his company website. I didn't hear back by 6PM and figured I probably wouldn't until the following day - which would have been a problem for sure. However, Patrick called me back by 7PM and patiently listened to my tales of water woe. He (correctly) diagnosed it was an ice dam problem and gave me advice on how to cope with it until he could get out to my house. He even gave me advice on what to do with regards to insurance. Never having had something go wrong with any home before and never having had any dealings with insurance companies before either (other than giving THEM money), I was in a bit of a flap. Patrick was super calm, super reassuring and super helpful. In such a situation what more could you ask? Patrick and his crew made me their first call the following morning and proceeded to spend 2.5 hours shoveling snow off my roof and melting the ice demons with fancy looking steam cannons. He then made visual inspections of all the roof gulleys and made sure the roof itself wasn't compromised. He also took many pictures for insurance purposes. Patrick talked me through the whole process, explaining what his crew were doing, what they'd found and what would happen next. Knowing what to expect when the insurance company's nominated restoration company showed up was invaluable. Patrick's crew were also very nice, professional and hard working. They were up on my roof for 2+ hours in driving snow and just got on with it. In summary, Patrick was excellent. A thoroughly nice, decent and honest person trying to do his best for a homeowner in need. I could not recommend him more highly. Thanks Patrick

"I had both my windows and siding replaced. They were very friendly and allowed me to take pics of their progress.
I bought a window that was 1 inch too big, and they were able to widen the opening without too much issue.
The siding subcontractors made a few mistakes while installing, but fixed it immediately. They are 4x8 sheets LP smart siding. some of the cuts were sloppy, but minor and easily covered with trim. I don't see it now that it's complete.

"The experience was excellent overall. I had prompt responses to my phone call and email communications. The products and options were thoroughly explained in advance of the project and the price was very reasonable for the quality of the materials. The installation schedule was communicated clearly. The installation was smooth, and the gutters look great and are already functioning substantially better than our old gutters. All of the varying employees that I spoke with were knowledgeable and respectful. Should I ever need to replace these (doubtful) I will certainly come back!
