Wood Essence designed, fabricated and installed custom millwork including crown, trim, paneling, exotic veneers and custom cabinetry throughout our unit in a Houston high rise. The workmanship is incredible. Craig and his team were professional and responsive throughout the entire construction process and beyond. AAAA+++

DO NOT HIRE!!! We hired Chris Juarez and his company to do an addition to our existing home as well as an entire house renovation. It went well at first. Then the excuses for delays started, we've heard it all. Then conveniently every time we started to waiver or were coming close to another draw, work magically got done. At the end of almost 2 years we still don't have a livable home, most of the work that was done wasn't done up to code. We had to hire another contractor to redo and finish the job which will cost us way more than the original bid. Chris Juarez has no problems with hiring poor subs that don't know what they are doing, doesn't stand behind his work, and has no remorse for stealing our money or leaving a nurse with an autistic child, a physically disabled husband and a retired teacher grandmother without a livable home. We are still having to pay for his mistakes in addition to double our own living expenses, not to mention the emotional toll this has taken on the kids. This company and its owner are a fraud. Please see attached photos of what $177,000 will get you with Chis Juarez

  • Marwood Construction

This happened to be the first major renovation of our first floor, and our experience has been quite positive. We chose Marwood Construction based on a nearby renovation project that they had successfully completed. Our initial meeting with the consultant from Marwood Construction was quite helpful. The consultant listened to all we wanted. All phone calls at any time to Marwood was promptly answered. We received lots of positive feedback from family and friends on how good the renovation work looks. I strongly recommend Marwood Construction, and would surely ask for their services in future

  • Strong Tower Renovations
    5.0
To Whom It May Concern: I write this letter in recommendation Strong Tower as a general contractor. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Sepulveda on the renovation of my house in 2016. I can recommend him highly and without reservation. Throughout the course of the renovation, Mr. Sepulveda was a consummate professional. He was accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of the project. He was absolutely clear in his record keeping and time log. The job was done with care and precision. In addition, he is extremely clean and tidy in the workplace. He and his assistant never left the worksite in disarray. Thank you for the fine work you did painting the entire house, the backsplash on the kitchen, the tile on the porch, kitchen granite countertop and minor details that came up. I want to thank you and your crew for a terrific job on my house. I really appreciate the careful attention to detail. I would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a contractor on remodeling their home. Once again, thanks for a job well done. Sincerely Enrique Mairena US Vetera

  • Primaris Construction

It went very well with Primaris Construction. My impression with Primaris Construction was very good. They met me at the designated time. They went through all the items that I was interested in having them do and put together a fit proposal which covered all of the items that I wanted to have completed. They finished up the work on March 15th. The approximate cost was 10000 dollars. They completely refurbished a 1100 square foot mobile home. I would definitely use this provider again in the future

  • Charlie D's Painting & Remodeling

Mr. Davis understood that I have had several bad experiences in the past and that I did not want to leave him to do the work during the week while I was at work so he agreed to start work on a Friday and by Sunday I was completely comfortable with him and allowed him to continue working through the week while I was working. He is COMPLETELY TRUSTWORTHY! He showed up to meet me around 7 or 8pm to go over all of the work that needed to be done. Once we agreed on everything he even went with me to Home Depot to help me pick a few things out. He showed up to start work ON TIME! He communicated with me very well. He even suggested ways to help me save money. He did an amazing job and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to come do work in your house. I will definitely be calling him back when I need more work done no matter what it is

The finished work was an amazing transformation from the old to the new flooring. The house was originally purchased in part because of this large 2nd floor game room ( approximately 18 ft by 22 ft) for our two children to play in and use. The game room served its purpose well. With both now young adults, it was time for remodeling. After obtaining two other estimates, I contacted Chop on the recommendation of a local supply company representative. My wife and I found Chop to be an amazing individual, very articulate and precise with his work, including the estimate. The two young men in his employmment were very polite and considerate. Chop provided instruction to both on refinement of proper techniques for installation of the hardward flooring. Chop was the main installer with the young men serving as assistants. The work was completed in the 2.5 days which confirmed the accuracy of the time estimate for the work. From Chop's website (www.chopsconstructioncompany), you can ascertain his company is not limited to just flooring installation. They perform all types of work involving home maintenance, including upgrades, both interior and exterior. Sheds and other small buildings are on his listing of accomplishments, including siding replacement. Please go to his website to see photographs of his work. Attached for your reference are photographs of the before and after stairway, and then photographs of the finished large game room. Please notice the method of installation on the stairs. The same flooring boards were used with the leading step edge of each being stained and hard clear-coat finished to match the flooring exactly. Originally, I thought this was unusual, even though I looked at the flooring pictures on Chop's website. There is great benefit to having the steps installed and completed by this method. Rather than slipping on carpeted steps as I did before on occasions, I can sense the step edge directly through my bedroom-slippered feet. For those of us who are aging, I consider this to be a great safety feature. I hope to employ Chop in the fututre and have recommended him to neighbors and co-workers. My only regret is by making this recommendation on Angie's List, his work time availability will become consumed by other members

We signed a contract to have a modular beach home built October 10, 2010 with initial startup payments of $46,000. This was to cover building permits, windstorm inspection, engineering drawings, installation and materials for pilings and sub floor and the purchase of all the SIP Panels (walls - the larget cost). The contract stated that the house would be substantially completed by January 15th. However, the building permit was not even obtained by that date. After that time, Chip Martel obtainined the bldg and septic permits and installed the pilings and subfloor but he did not get approval of the Windstorm Inspection engineer. It was later learned that the subfloor didn not meet inspection requirements and the floor joists and sub floor would need to be redone. Then at the beginning of March, Chip Martel took time off the job for many personal reasons: spring break, death in the family, other work to finish. The SIP Panels had not been purchased and yet he had our payment that was to go for those panels. Chip kept saying that he would start the next week, but the next week he would come up with another reason that he couldn't make it. We asked repeatedly for him to put together a new timeline that he could meet. On March 28, he sent an email stating he did not intend to continue the project - he quit the contract. He stated that he would send an itemized list of the cost with the refundable portion. He never did. We asked for this again (documented in 6 emails) but we received nothing. We had tried to resolve the situation thru the Dispute Resolution Center (part of the BBB). He canceled all 3 of the meetings arrangeed. We had an attorney contact him with no results. After learning of my first bad review, he called irrate to say that we would never get a penny back

The owner of this company, Dale Faltysek, took our money and did not do the job. He has done this to other people in the community and should not be trusted!
