The texture and painting job looked worse than if I had done it. The texture did not match the existing texture at all. He didn't close off the shower drain while doing the concrete work therefore concrete got into the drain and it is still there! Demanded payment before the job was completed and accused me of keeping his children from seeing their grandfather because he needed that money to do so. His crew left a mess to be cleaned up and used material that belongs to be to do the job promising to replace it but didn't. This guy is a nightmare!

"Well let's put both side of the story out the stone of this is true I dropped the ball while my father was under going lung cancer surgery removal he had a heart attack so I rush the job that's on me but we did go back and clean it all up I even hired a plumber to check the drain and he put 20 gallons of water in the shower it drain in 45 seconds and said that a good drain witch me 350.00 the I give you and open ended warranty on the drain of it ever gets clogged I will take care of it and pay the bill out of my pocket I had to move away to have a roof over my head 200 miles away only saw my kids 3 times during this because I could not aford the trip and taken care of my kids I came back again in February on the 10th after a 4 hour ride I stop at your house at 9 am before I even saw my kids then you and I looked at the two problems you said you had 1 being a small area of concrete in the drain witch a plumber can not on 2 different times and passed it both times the 3rd time I came back was for divorce court with I got the house and 80 % of the income tax ck whe gor her house I move back this weekend I told them to take me to court or I can go fix it soon as I move back you would be the 1st person I call or to call willie Villarreal of Villarreal Tile and marble to fix it and I would pay the bill but that's not good enough eather your daughter put words in mr. Villarreal mouth that he did not say that's not right he is trying to help you I offered to pay him upfront when I talked to him this morning and as far as the hot and cold water line being back wards it's a easy 3 hour fix now that I know what it is but you said dont worry about that so let's pick and choose spin your story how ever you want to there your side my side and the truth everytime I told you I would be there I was there I alway answered my text or your phone call I have not ran from this I face my mistake head on if you dont want it fixed but me or fixed by Mr willie Villarreal I dont know what to tell you I will be back this Friday I believe that's March 15 what do you want to do in this matter when you try and throw someone under the bus make sure they wont lay I. Front of the bus 1st I messed up I am trying to fix it and make it right sorry it's on my time and not yours the shower work and drains you can use it till I get there to fix it make sure you tell the entire story it was my work my job your house at the end of the day I am sorry I let you down and rushed the job all I can do is fix it and make it right but it is hard to do when I am 200 miles from you and you knew this because we where in contact with each other [Member Name Removed] balls in your court want it fixed or not"

He had sent his crew for flooring in the house and Jose and his crew did really nice work so when we decided to get Charlie to do the shower, he came with his assistant and the job was horrible. He couldn’t understand why we were upset with the work. He was told he would not get the final payment till the job was done. He threw a fit and stayed to finish the job but left grout in the drain and we will be taking action. He acted like the job was done and still didn’t understand why we thought the work was substandard. See pictures below for full disclosure DO NOT EVER USE THEM if it’s not Jose. Oh and he didn’t clean up the grout and seal it

"Sorry you gill that way [Member Name Removed] glad you can give the one side of a store when I came to your home I fix the sheet rock around one window and resealed 24 with 25 year caulking I live about 7 miles from you and I got hit with 90 mile and hour winds and you told me we one the phone that the pearland Tx area didt hit but then in your review you said you did get hit but had no wind really to say and over the phone you told me I would fix the sheet rock around every window out of 24 Windows on you house I only did sheetrock around one window not all of them you are someone trying to get something for nothing file with fima file with windstorm file with your insurance company like everybody else has I'm not being rude if I can thwart see anything in a national disaster h*** I have water in my own house very really pulls together we'll make it through but we'll people like you we won't I'll pray for you and God bless and the day we did the work at your house the heat index was over 110 to 115 it was one of the hottest days that we had this year I asked to reschedule but you wanted it done no matter what so we Brave the Heat and we did it for you have a good day sir truly sorry you feel the way you do"

They came out and were very nice. They started with the painting. It was to take about 1 day and charged me a daily rate. They told me that they were going to save me money by charging a daily rate. It went from 1 day, to 2 days. Then from 2 days, to 3 days. I ended up having to replace the hot water heater. He told me no problem, I can do that for you. I figured he had to come back anyway to finish the painting that was only to take 1 day. He said that he would do the door, the weather stripping, and finish the painting when he did the hot water heater. When they did the water heater, they sanded the door and put a light coat of stain down. He told me to call him and let him know if I wanted it stained again. It definitely needed another coat. He put a stripping around the inside of my back door and told me that it may be difficult to close. I couldn't close it at all. I called him and had him come back out. He was very rude to me. I've tried to give him times that I am available for him to come out and he has never responded. I went to go to the grocery store and when I was leaving I stepped into a puddle of water. I called a plumber out and he told me that when they moved my washer and dryer out that they never put the washer drain back in correctly. The dry wall is damaged and my deep freezer is now ruined as well due to the electrical having water damage. I have tried to call him again to get him to come out to fix these issues and still have not been able to get him to answer. Charlie has a handyman that works for/with him that is absolutely wonderful. My issue is with Charlie, the quality of his work, his customer service and his lack of response.

"We started out doing shelving in the garage. Once that was completed she proceeded to say that she had additonal work in her house that she wanted done. She wanted us to paint her front entryway, hallway-2 wall inserts roughly 8'x8', bedroom hallway, hallway upstairs as well as laundry room. While prepping and painting she asked us to put together furniture as well as move furniture to other rooms and to the attic (2 story house). Re-finish front door and fix back door. We told her she needed a new door and door jam. She didn't want to do that. So we replaced the weather stripping and told her it will need to be "broke in" because the frame is out of square. But it did close. The job took longer because of all the additional work she added. No drywall was done. All painting completed. Hot water was not in original to do list and was an extra and we drove across Houston to get the one she wanted. No extra charge to her for going 3 different places to find the one that was wanted. As for the washing machine over flow (drain line) was installed correctly. Now 2 months later it leaks. She she is trying to blame my company. No one can predict down the road malfunctions. Front door was refinished in 40 degree weather at her request. We advised against it. We bent over backwards to meet her schedule. When we asked her to meet our schedule as work was busy, she declined. The front door needs one final coat to complete. As for caulking the windows she said to wait because of additional work she added and her budget was low."

I wasn't pleased with them. We had them come and redo a bathroom for us in summer of 2014. They also rebuilt a gazebo in my backyard. The bathroom was fantastic. They did a great job at a reasonable price. They stuck to their bid. Then, we hired them to rebuild the gazebo. It had to be rebuilt while standing. That's kind of a tall order but they said, "Sure. We could do that." The reason it had to be was, our  deed restrictions were written a long time ago and at the time, in the 1990s, people were allowed to put up a gazebo. But now, they've been rewritten and if you take down the gazebo, we would have a whole bunch of paperwork and waiting and a fee to go ahead and apply to have one put up again. They could easily say, "No. We don't want you to." So, we had to do it while it was standing. They did the work. But in the process, they were so dumb about things. There was a ceiling fan and a light fixture in the middle of the gazebo. They never took it down. In the process of building, they broke the blades. They broke two out of five blades. Then he says, "Okay. I'm going to replace the blades. Don't worry." He couldn't find matching blades. It had a cane appearance. Then he says, "Okay, I'll get you different ones." I said, "I like the cane." He says, "Well, I can't find a cane to go with this one. But I can buy you a new ceiling fan." They put in a new ceiling fan with a light fixture, which now, doesn't work. Just eight months after they put it in, it doesn't work. He won't come back. Also, the paint that he used is peeling everywhere, after eight months. Actually it started peeling a lot sooner than that. He won't come back, won't take a look at it. He was too busy. So I thought the only way to get him back is to actually hire him to do one more job. I thought, "Okay, he did a good job on the bathroom." I had a guest bath that needed the wallpaper peeled off, repainted, put a chair guard all around. It didn't need any new fixtures. Everything else was good. I just wanted the walls done. He made such a mess. Four months after he has done it, you still can't go in there without being overcome by the fumes of the paint. I think he used the wrong paint, maybe outdoor paint or something. It's just terrible. He won't come back. So, I'm really, really displeased. Plus, what he did to me this time - he did the same thing with the gazebo - he started off with a price like $1000. He added $1000 to it and said, "We're going over budget a little bit here. So I'm going to have to charge you an extra $1000." I said, "What? We didn't agree to this. What's going over budget?" He of course, had to include the ceiling fan and other stuff that he had broken, that I didn't even know he had broken, which they should have paid for. With this job, he so overcharged me, so very much. People were aghast what it cost to just remove wallpaper and paint and put up the chair guard. Plus, when he left, there was still tape around the ceiling glass fixture, where he taped to protect it from paint. There were still splotches here and there where there weren't any paint like he missed an area. I don't even want him to come back and try and fix any of this. It was my own fault for having him back after the gazebo fiasco. I have learnt my lessons with him. He is a very smooth talker. I wasn't even here. I was in Korea when he did the bathroom remodel upstairs. My husband had just great things to say about it. When I came back, the truth came out that he had broken tiles and had to replace the tiles in the shower area, when he was trying to put up a new shower rod. There were lots of problems. I've even had him to dinner. He was going through a lot of personal issues and he was sharing them with us. He was late one night working and I said, "Okay, come on in. Have supper with us." That was a mistake. I'm never calling him again.

"Mrs [Removed Member Name] I am sorry feel the way you do but as far as the fan you still have the old one and I did come back and fix the paint on the gazebo and ever time we went over budiet on the gazebo was do to the way you wanted built and all of the rotten wood that had to be replaced as far is for the paint on the gazebo the wood was all treated wet wood I told your husband wait to paint it because it might pill up and it did and I touched it all up again if there was such a problem you should have told me you both singed the contract and change order for the work bein done there where no hiden cost I told you what the cost was and that's the cost and the guest bath I removed the wall paper retextured the walls put up crown and chair real mark all the paint can and put them in your garage so you would have touch up paint you pick all the paint out you pick out oil base paint for your trim yes it stinks but that what you had in your home already and wanted the same stuff so that what you got when we went to home Depot for your supplies look looked at it when I was done and said it was beautiful and paid me if I forgot some tape on a light i am sorry if you where unhappy with something you should of let me make it right I have never over charged you and any way I paid for the fan blade not you I did talk down the fan how else would of the new wood be above your old fan I ask you and your husband if you guys wanted a new fan an you said I like my old one so it got put back up again I am deeply sorry you feel the way you do I use the supplies that you suppled me to use yes I help pick some of it out with you because you asked me to if you unhappy with the bathroom we can come paint it for free if this would make you happy"

Both of them shopped with me for supplies after we discussed shelving options. Costs incurred for Charlie D's did not include the cost of supplies we purchased separately. Charlie and James removed MDF Shelving that was already sagging after 3 months of living in our new home. Charlie and James came up with great ideas on adding shelves to utilize our closet spaces for storage, including custom shelving for my husband's shoe boxes. They did 4 days of work then had another job but returned the following week to finish what we had discussed. They spent two days installing five ceiling fans, a laundry room sink and installed shelving in another deep closet space.

Charlie D's Painting and Remodeling were very very professional. They were neat and clean. They owner drew up what it would look like and told us exactly what it would cost. The price did not go over at all. It was exactly as he said. He told us the time it would be complete, and it was finished in that time frame. They were very meticulous. If a tile was crooked, he'd pull it back up and put it back into place. It had to be straight. My husband was there to oversee it and he was a good supervisor. I was in the hospital and when I came home it was exactly as I'd hoped, and it was spotless. There was no debris or dust anywhere. My husband said that while the men were there working, they did their job and did not play around. They were there to get the job done right. I would highly, highly recommend them.

Charlie is a problem solver. I had ideas about what I wanted. Then he gave me several other possibilities with the pricing for each. As in any renovation, any snag we hit was explained to me completely so I could understand everything about the issue. And he gave several possible solutions. It made our decisions much easier to make. He was always on time and worked the whole time scheduled. He is an outgoing, friendly man with a wealth of knowledge. We bought some of the materials ahead of time and he directed us to the best places for the best prices. Honest, dependable, reliable, creative. We have gotten so many compliments on our baths and I have given my friends his contact information.

The thing is that with a lot of these guys, you don't hear back from them or they give you stupid quotes; like you are building a park in the hall. The prices are ridiculous. The price is about what I expected. He was responsive. I would use them again in the future.

The initial job was repairing an uneven sidewalk and refinishing an entranceway door. The sidewalk repair is excellent. The door had to he redone due to sloppy workmanship. Plus the worker wiped dark brown paint from his fingers on my light colored brick exterior of my house. Two big brown fingerprints right at eye level. The Sheetrock repairs are great and you can barely see where the holes were except for the paint used to cover the wall wasn't matched anywhere even near to the original color on the wall. Granted, he did say he would return and repaint, but I decided to hire another company instead to repaint. .

Contractor responded immediately to me inquiry, offered to provide estimates next day, performed some work the same day as the estimate and came back a week later to complete work that could not be done until a different contractor finished. Contractor kept all appointments, confirmed second appointment to ensure schedule was still good, kept me informed of progress and estimated completion. All requested work was performed and I was pleased with the results.

Mr. Davis understood that I have had several bad experiences in the past and that I did not want to leave him to do the work during the week while I was at work so he agreed to start work on a Friday and by Sunday I was completely comfortable with him and allowed him to continue working through the week while I was working. He is COMPLETELY TRUSTWORTHY! He showed up to meet me around 7 or 8pm to go over all of the work that needed to be done. Once we agreed on everything he even went with me to Home Depot to help me pick a few things out. He showed up to start work ON TIME! He communicated with me very well. He even suggested ways to help me save money. He did an amazing job and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to come do work in your house.
I will definitely be calling him back when I need more work done no matter what it is!
