We woke up to 2 feet of water after our water heater busted, Flood Crew came in explain what they would do, removed the water, dried our basement with their equipment, and dealt with the insurance from beginning to end. Easy process for us that never gone thru this before

4 Service Pros

Greg was professional and helpful however he sent his contractors who contradicted each other and ended up turning off the pilot light to fix our water heater only to refuse to light it again because they claimed the gas leak could not be fixed, insisting a new water heater was needed. Left us with no hot water until we agreed to buy and install the new water heater. Water heater went in no problem but we were disappointed with the overall service.

My basement had sewage that overflowed from the toilet and shower stall into the rest of the basement. Top to Bottom Renovations quoted a fair price and submitted the paperwork to the insurance company. They did an excellent job with the cleanup and I would not hesitate to use them again if needed.

Water Damage Pro

I contacted Water Damage Pro for a quote to repair water damage to our basement carpeting/flooring after a huge storm left many basements in the area flooded. The rep was kind enough to walk me through how to repair it myself since repairs were at a premium (given the high demand) and even answered a repair question I had over text message. If we ever have water damage again, I'm going right to Water Damage Pro for help. Highly recommend.

Water Damage DMV

Water Damage DMV was excellent. They explained everything very well both in person and on the phone, they arrived on time, they worked with our budget, and went the extra mile to ensure that our water issue was fixed, even during the holiday season. Their drying equipment was excellent and completed the job within the proper amount of time. While I hope I never have to deal with water damage again, I would definitely hire Water Damage DMV if we ran into a future water damage issue.

The crew was on time, respectful, and knowledgeable. Owner, Bill, showed us where the water was behind and under our kitchen cabinet. They were able to dry it out while we were out of town, replaced our laminate floors, and gave us suggestions on how to prevent future water damage. Don’t waste your time looking around, go with Flood Crew.

I had a pipe burst in the basement of our rental property, Flood Crew was referred by our realtor. They arrived quickly after the pipe was fixed by our plumber, demoed, and dried out the areas, even handled packing out our furniture and placing carefully in a pod storage while the work was being done. They did mold testing and made sure everything was safe, the best part was that they dealt with the insurance and we didn’t have to do anything.

Advanced Restoration Solutions
5.0
Advanced Restoration came out IMMEDIATELY when my family and I returned from a weekend trip to a flooded living room, dining room, and kitchen. Even though it was a late Sunday night, Ran and Denise contacted me, and have been taking care of me every since! Their team is professional, safe (PPE and social distancing due to COVID), their work is very thorough and they were respectful of property. I am told by my condo/home association that Advanced is pricier than other cleanup companies they work with — still, I wanted the best and Advanced is First-Class. Advanced works directly with my insurance companies and my HOA, and negotiated the best $ possible. In addition, Rocky, Carlos, Justin, Jason and team have been phenomenal throughout this tough process. I am glad that I found Advanced through Google Top Rated Water Mitigation / Mediation and Restoration. I was an amateur at the beginning of the process and Advanced has made my house look like I’m a PRO. I look forward to posting before and after pics. A Brooks

RestorTech Inc
5.0
My experience with RestorTech was very positive on all fronts, and I would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with water damage in their home. We had a roof leak in our house, and when we discovered that there was still some water above the ceiling we called RestorTech for an estimate and any necessary repair. I contacted them on a Friday, and Daniel from the water department was able to come out the next Monday. He was thorough in his inspection and gave us an honest assessment, including not selling us on unnecessary work, which I greatly appreciated as a layman—there was an area where the moisture was so minor that he didn’t recommend the expense and hassle of tearing out drywall to get to it. We scheduled the work for two days later, and he showed up promptly with an assistant to prep the room, cut out the necessary sections of wall and ceiling, remove wet insulation, and set up a dehumidifier and fans to dry the affected areas. He came back a few days later to confirm that the drying had worked and remove all the equipment. Throughout the whole process, Daniel was easy to communicate with, kept us thoroughly informed on what to expect, and cleaned up well when his work was done. I have very little frame of reference but the price seemed reasonable - the affected area was a portion of a small room, and the total cost was about $500 (we didn’t file a claim with our insurance but he was ready to work with them if we had). He and his assistant were also very good about wearing masks and maintaining distance when possible since we were having the work done during the pandemic. Unfortunately, RestorTech does the kind of work that I hope to never need again, but if I do end up with more water damage they’ll be my first call!

All Plumbing Inc

I was turning around a rental condo, and the painter called to tell me there was a water leak somewhere. I discovered that the water heater was leaking. I called All based on a recommendation of our condo maintenance manager, and All confirmed an appointment for later that afternoon. They replaced the water heater with a quality A.O. Smith unit, and replaced an old valve as well. They were VERY responsive and helpful, and did a very nice job installing the new water heater. Quality install to code.

ULTIMATE WATER DAMAGE RESTORATION
5.0
I want to thank Andrew with Ultimate Water Damage restoration for saving our house from flooding and mold twice already. First time it was an emergency request and Andrew responded immediately. His immediate response saved our basement from water and mold, so our girls can enjoy their playroom which was recently remodeled. Second time, we had a flood in our kitchen and a living room that has hard wood floors. I was panicking because I didn’t know hard wood could be saved from the water. My husband called Ultimate Water Damage immediately. Andrew came within 30 minutes with all required equipment and installed air movers and dehumidifiers. Not only our floors were saved from the water, but also our wallet from replacing the floors. I highly recommend Ultimate Water Damage for its quick responsiveness and proficiency.

Working with Javier helps to understand how the insurance coverage works. This was not something I could have done on my own. Javier acted almost like an insurance attorney providing invaluable advice. So, the moral of the story is that you need Javier to guide you through your coverage. However, this does not mean that you leave everything to Javier and sit in the corner. You have to understand what is covered and what is not and be ready to supplement your extras out of your pocket to realize your own expectations. The paintwork is a good example; the insurance won't pay the Benjamin Moore paint, and what they pay for doesn’t do much beauty. Then you have to follow up and make sure you pay the extra for what you really want. This works with everything; if you work with Javier on your budget, you will need to take his lead with the third-party contractors. The other deceptive element of insurance is the timing; if you depend on the money coming from the insurance, the process takes forever. The insurance reinstallation is a business model, a system, and there is no logic to it. When supplemental requests are involved, the insurance pays $1000 to accommodation instead of instantly approving a $500 supplemental. The process is very frustrating, and people get frustrated; however, Javier NEVER says NO. Whatever you want, he finds a way to deliver. He did the re-paint job for free with the paint of my choice. I was unhappy with some installations. He immediately got them fixed. One other thing is that Javier never bothered me with payment timing. He was pretty flexible. He did not even call for follow-up. I read the negative reviews on the website, and I realized I had most of them myself, BUT the point is Javier is not the reason. Construction work is an expensive open-ended process; the products we usually get are not top-notch Armani Case; they are what insurance covers and the process is frustratingly time-consuming unless you pay up-front and ready to pay for extras. So the frustration-cause is not Javier; it is the difference between what it is and what we want to be. Javier worked on my place for several months; his team is reliable, honest, and trustable.

How Much Does Restoration Services Cost?

The average cost to clean up water damage is between $2,000 to $8,000.

If there's water in your home or you need to repair the lingering effects of water damage, follow our hiring tips to find the pros who are best-equipped to handle the job:

1. Act Quickly

For most types of home repair, it's best to take your time and consider your options before you commit to a certain company's services. However, water damage can destroy parts of your home within hours, and if you leave parts of your house wet for a week or more, you might have to evacuate to avoid health hazards.

Take as much time as you can to find the right water damage restoration company and get the best price, but take action before your house has taken so much damage that you have to leave.

2. Ask Insurance Questions

Reputable water damage restoration companies will accept all types of major homeowner's insurance, but you should make sure that the company you're considering working with takes your type of insurance before you proceed. If they don't accept your insurance plan, there's probably a better company out there that does.

3. Make Sure They're Reputable

If you see a company doing the rounds in your neighborhood after a big storm, go with someone else. Always ask for references, and check the company's reviews to learn how the community sees them.

While a little bit of water might seem innocuous, this slippery substance can do serious damage to any home in no time.
