Small jobs welcome

"We recently hired Dan?s Parking Lot Maintenance to strip and seal coat our parking lot, and the results exceeded our expectations. The quality of their work is outstanding. The seal coat was applied evenly and professionally, and the striping is crisp, straight, and perfectly aligned. The finished product completely refreshed the look of our property and significantly improved its overall appearance. It truly looks brand new. From start to finish, their team was punctual, efficient, and easy to communicate with. They showed great attention to detail and made sure everything was completed properly. The job site was left clean and organized, which we really appreciated. If you?re looking for a dependable company that delivers high-quality results and takes pride in their work, I highly recommend Dan?s Parking Lot Maintenance. We will definitely be using them again in the future"

"These guys are true professionals. I've used them for several jobs (septic system, clearing, grading, fine grading, resolving my pond, etc.) And they have never disappointed me. They are reasonably priced, show up when they're supposed to and clean up after themselves. Who does that anymore. I strongly recommend them for any of your future projects"

"Dutch and his partner, Mike, put down our hardwood flooring for us in just a few days! Before our floor was laid, they took a wall down in our kitchen which gave us a wonderful open "great room". They were incredible workers. Dutch has so much experience that he was able to figure out some real tough situations we had with wiring and plumbing after the wall was down. Mike was excellent at crawling up in the attic and helping Dutch reroute all the exposed wiring. I've never seen two guys work so hard and put in such long days. They were incredibly fast at their work and I would highly recommend them for any remodeling job. Very nice guys!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Like all driveway materials, asphalt can crack in the wrong conditions and with age. Many things can cause asphalt to crack, including shifting soil or settling under the foundation. Other common causes are driving oversized vehicles on the asphalt, tree roots, and using rock salt during the snowy season. Proper installation and sealing the driveway every 10 years can help prevent cracks.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.

When comparing installation costs, asphalt is often less expensive upfront than concrete. Asphalt prices typically range from $7 to $15 per square foot, while concrete can range from $3 to $18 per square foot. However, long-term costs should also be considered. Concrete driveways generally last longer (up to twice as long) and require less maintenance, which can make them more affordable over their lifespan. While asphalt has a lower installation cost and is easier to repair, it requires more frequent maintenance, such as sealing, which can add up over time. Therefore, while concrete is more expensive initially, its durability may offset the cost in the long run.

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.
