"GG Contractors are both reliable and dependable. They pay great attention to detail and are experienced to the point where you can depend on them for informed decisions about what would work best for your property and your budget. Having hired them before on other projects at my home, I know that their work is solid and that my new deck will last for many years to come. I’m very pleased with the outcome and would recommend GG Contractors for both in-door and outdoor projects that you need done."

"Corey repaired the eaves, gutters, and deck on my sister's house. The workmanship is excellent and was done in a timely manner for a fair price. I would certainly work with Corey for any future home repair needs."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired them to paint the exterior of our house—a large job involving some difficult to reach areas and some detailed trim work. There were some issues weather and some employees who weren’t up to par and weren’t kept on the job the entire time, which led to the job taking a few weeks to complete (rather than the 3-4 days that were originally estimated). This was not an issue for us, as we were not on any sort of timeline for having the work completed. We were much more interested in quality, and the “main three” (Nicole, Leah and Danny) made certain that we were satisfied with the work and that everything was cleaned up when they were finished. We will certainly hire them again in the future."

Childproofing questions, answered by experts

The best time to hire a childproofing professional is at least three months before your due date. Although it might seem early, proper childproofing takes time, especially if you need extensive services like a pool fence. Getting your house ready now before your child is on the go only helps to protect them at all stages of life.

Yes, tamper-resistant outlets are a safe and effective way to protect children from electrical hazards. They feature a spring-loaded shutter that blocks the outlet slots when not in use, preventing a child from inserting foreign objects. While they are the safest option available, it's important to note that few things can be considered truly 'childproof.' Children may still try to imitate adults by inserting a plug, so constant supervision around any electrical device is recommended. Tamper-resistant outlets are a much safer solution than childproofing covers, which can be removed by children and may pose a choking hazard.

In many cases, you can DIY home childproofing with success. You can purchase childproofing tools like cabinet locks, outlet covers, and table-edge guards and install them easily.

However, it's best to have a professional childproofing service work on larger projects like pool safety or furniture anchoring. These safety measures can take a lot of time and effort to DIY, plus, you want to ensure the tasks are done correctly to keep your child safe.

The average cost of childproofing services is $410. This cost can range from $190 to $630 or more, depending on the size of your home and what services you need.

The location of the childproofing additions also plays a vital role in the overall cost. For example, a bathroom is relatively small and costs about $150 to fully childproof. However, if you have a swimming pool, you could spend as much as $1,500 to $10,000 to make it entirely safe for small children, including adding a pool fence.

Many parents, especially first-time parents, agree that professional childproofing is worth it. These professional childproofing services are trained to recognize dangerous home situations that many people would overlook until it's too late. Furthermore, professional childproofing experts have access to top-of-the-line equipment you can't purchase at most stores, providing longevity and peace of mind.
