"This was the worse company I have ever dealt with. We signed a contract in March 2022 and on April 1st. 2022 the hole was dug. Fast forward to July when the rain had washed out the sides of the hole because Bill had not started any other work on our pool. He finally showed up with some pool walls and placed them. Fast forward to September. He put he the pool liner in and filled with water. Fast forward to November. He stopped working on the project. Fast forward to March 2023. He showed up to see what need to be taken care of to finish the project. Fast forward to May 2023 the project was complete. The concrete is cracking because he waited to long to saw cut expansion joints and he never came back to give us the $2000 pool cover we paid for. We sued him in February 2024 and won. He still hasn’t paid us. I’m writing this on February 22 2025"

The amount of work required was extensive, being both inside and out, They paid a great deal of time and effort to assure the work was done right. He also consulted with me every step of the way to assure things were done to my satisfaction (ie. color selection, landscaping options, material selection). The cost was fair for the work that needed to be done, and if you consider the high quality of the work, the price was very reasonable. I was offered options to modify the cost along the way. Yes, you can pour concrete over an existing concrete basement floor to save time and money on fully ripping out an existing concrete slab. However, it’s not a perfect solution, so consult a pro before moving forward. You must take specific measurements, and these kinds of floors don’t have the same longevity.

If your epoxy application ended up a bit messy and left spills behind, there are several ways to clean epoxy off of a concrete floor. You can use a power washer with at least 3,000 PSI. However, it may be easier to use a scraping tool or an acidic cleaner, like vinegar, to remove unwanted epoxy. 

If the entire floor has epoxy and you want to remove just excess epoxy stains, these methods could still strip parts of the epoxy floor. Move carefully and in small areas to minimize damage, or call a pro for an expert finish.

One of the best base materials for a floating deck is a layer of gravel or compacted paver base to promote drainage and stability. Additionally, using concrete deck blocks or similar supports helps evenly distribute the weight and keep the structure level. These base materials help minimize moisture buildup, reducing shifting and rotting.

As a general rule of thumb, allow 24 hours for penetrating sealers to cure and at least 48 hours of drying time for most topical sealers. Always check the instructions for the sealing product you’re using to determine the drying time.

Lally columns do require some kind of footing to ensure they have a strong enough base to provide the support they need to deliver, and, at the very least, they need to attach to the floor below. Some contractors will just use the existing foundation as a footing for temporary Lally columns, while some circumstances demand that the expert install a new footing. You might need a local structural engineer to weigh in on which is best for your project.
