"Was able to remove the garden hose from the hose bib, even with the bit of galvanic corrosion that made it hard to do so. The guys also looked at the hose bib from inside the wall and saw that the pipe burst during the winter; they replaced that as well."

"The installation guys put drop cloths down over my carpet from the entry door to the inside HVAC unit to keep from getting my carpet dirty. The installers were polite, professional and worked hard; never stopping to take a break. They cleaned up everything and did a great job. Tim Griffin sold me the unit and he really knows his stuff. Start by unscrewing the overflow valve, which is located on the wall of your tub between the floor drain and the tub spout. Gently insert a plumbing snake down into the pipe, move it back and forth, and pull it out. Remove any hair, debris, and soap scum that comes out with it. Repeat the process until the snake comes out clean, and then reinstall the cap on your overflow valve.

The P-trap (or S-trap in older homes) under your shower is designed to prevent sewer gas from coming back up, so you shouldn’t normally experience foul odors coming from your shower drain. If you want to avoid using a snake to unclog a drain, or if you don’t have one, try vinegar and baking soda. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Wait for 15 minutes, and then run hot water (but not boiling water) down the drain to see if the clog is clear. Repeat multiple times as needed.
