"I reached out to this customer today to offer our sincere apologies. We had one of our technicians out to replace an existing outside spigot and look at another potential leak in the ceiling. 2 days after the work was completed we received a phone call from the customer at 6:45 am stating that there was a slow leak at one of the newly installed fittings. We sent the same tech out immediately arriving at the customers house at 7:15 am. He did find that there was indeed a slow leak from a newly installed solder joint. He quickly repaired the the leak only to discover that there was another leak further up the pipe on a fitting we had not installed. He fixed that leak as well and billed the customer for only that repair. The tech was told by the customer that he did not want to pay the invoice at that time. The tech relayed the information to the office and was instructed to process the invoice as warranty. At this point it was 10:15am and we sent the technician to his earlier scheduled appointment in which he was now tardy for (customer was notified) I only state that last part cause it may explain the complaint that the technician appeared hurried. The tech had placed a drop cloth under the ladder covering the area below his work area as is normal protocol. After talking to both the customer and the technician it is believed that the solder later discovered on the floor may have splattered off the ladder therefore landing on the floor away from the drop cloth. I agree the technician should have completed a more thorough inspection of the work site and cleaned up any debris not contained by the covering. I have spoken with tech and reiterated the need to double and triple check the area around his work area to ensure that the area is at least as clean as it was before he arrived. Furthermore to never feel rushed into not completing a task in a substandard way. I feel that my conversation with the customer was constructive and left us on good terms. We strive to provide the best customer service and constantly review our customer satisfaction to ensure that we are taking every measure possible to exceed expectations. We will certainly apply this review into our training in effort to learn from it and make the neccessary adjustments. "I appreciate your kind words. The fact that our technicians are so young sometimes works against us upon first arriving at a customers house. I have had customers call with concerns that these kids cannot possibly have the experience needed to solve their plumbing problem. I have to assure them that the technicians are more than capable of handling their issues and to just give them a chance. I almost always recieve an apologetic phone call expressing how pleased they were with the "kids" and how impressed they were with they're professionalism and with how methodical they went about diagnosing the problem.
