"David was great. He was kind, and did everything that was asked in the realm of possibility. He kept me and my wife informed, about everything as it went. The project was completed in the agreed time frame, and the pricing was excellent. I will definitely be contacting again with more projects."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"After purchasing an Angie's List Deal, I received the measuring kit in the mail promptly. The template and instructions provided to draw my split table top and each of the leaves were easy to use and understand. I mailed the completed materials and received the table pads very quickly. The table splits in the middle to allow insertion of up to 3 additional leaves. The table also has 2 drop leaves. That's 7 pads. All fit perfectly. I have used them on the table for family parties (not every day) and they're durable and built to last. I keep them in the box they arrived in to protect them when not in use. These are a worthwhile investment."

"Where do I begin with how wonderful and thorough Bryant Contractors are!! They were always on time, respectful of our home, respectful of us whenever we showed up to take a look. They were done sooner than we thought which was a nice surprise since we were staying at a hotel. They made sure to do the work right, too. If they had any concerns or questions we got a call for approval. I just cannot say enough great things. These are contractors that would make Mike Holmes proud! Hire them and you won't be sorry. My husband and I know if we need anything they are a call away and they are getting more jobs at our house, definitely!"

"I first met Jodie while he was building a large room addition, residing, and re-roofing my brother's house. I was impressed with his knowledge and workmanship. He always strived to keep the customer happy and do the job right, whatever it took. I later hired Jodie to install two different types of laminate flooring in 5 rooms of my house. I couldn't believe it, but he was in and out in 3 days. Everything was perfect."

"The actual service was awesome and the guys doing the work were courteous and amazing! We are definitely going to recommend them to our neighbors who are experiencing the same settling issues with their concrete. We did, however, have a rough go at scheduling and communication from the office could be improved. The work was originally scheduled for a Tuesday but the prior job ran over. That first week communication was great but then we didn’t hear anything for 7 days and had to call them to figure out when the work was being rescheduled for."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

The cost to frame a 2,000-square-foot house can fall anywhere between $14,000 and $32,000. This price can increase or decrease depending on what type of framing you choose, the quality of the materials, the project's complexity, and whether you decide to hire a professional to do the job.

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

Baseboards don’t have to be nailed into studs. However, nailing them into studs adds to their stability. When studs aren’t available, you can secure them with drywall nails directly into the drywall and adhesive. Always aim to nail into studs, especially in high-traffic or impact-prone areas.

Installing an ornamental or decorative porch column takes around three to five hours. Structural columns take longer because your pro has to install a jack to hold up the roof while switching the column out. If there's any structural damage, it can add several days to the timeline to repair the damage.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.
