"I chose Platinum Framing & Roofing, LLC to replace my leaking roof and I believe I made an excellent decision. The owner, A Maines, quoted a reasonable price for a lot of work. I was impressed with his obvious expertise and he answered each question in detail and with patience. His crew worked diligently and obviously took pride in a job well done. They were courteous and thorough. The color I chose was readily available and looks beautiful. Every line is straight and the added cricket, which I requested, will end the years long leaking around the chimney. I was kept updated on the job as it progressed over the day and a half it required. Mr. Maines and his crew thoroughly cleaned up everything before they left. From getting the permit to cleanup everything was done very well. I recommend this company."

I am a young business owner and brand new father! I have worked all over the construction industry from a young age and became a licensed plumber before I finished highschool. The name “One man” Freelancing was inspired by my service in the WV national guard where I still currently serve as the “one man” a term given to the cannon crewmember who loads and fires the artillery cannons. I have a broad range of knowledge and problem solving skills, if I don’t know how to do the job I will surely be able to learn and you will not be disappointed with results!

While the Arts and Crafts movement inspired many architectural elements, the primary styles from the time include Craftsman, Tudor Revivals, bungalows, and Mission homes. You'll see elements of these styles in homes, churches, museums, and schools—particularly Country Day schools from the era.

Some states require carpenters to be licensed to perform forms of carpentry, such as framing. The license requires a certain amount of experience and to pass an examination. In states that don’t require carpenters to be licensed, they must be licensed as a contractor if they work independently rather than solely as a subcontractor under a licensed builder. Use Angi’s contractor licensing tool to find out whether a potential carpenter is licensed in your state.

Many contractors prefer checks because they’re easy to track and have no associated fees. However, many also accept credit cards (though they might add a fee to cover their processing costs).

If you’re just replacing a few broken or damaged joists, you can expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $300 per joist. However, a complete installation for a home or room will take into account the cost of labor, which ranges from $25 to $40 per hour. Floor joist installation for an entire room, for example, can cost between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on the room's size and the materials used.

It is not recommended to cut or drill into LVL (laminated veneer lumber) beams. As major structural components of a home, their composite structure can be compromised by alterations, which can weaken them and lead to cracking over time. If you must make modifications to an LVL beam, it is crucial to consult a structural engineer or general contractor first. A professional can advise on whether it's safe and provide specifics on the appropriate bit size, depth, and directionality for any necessary drilling.
