"They were so professional and knowledgeable. My mom is handicapped and they checked in every step of the way and made adjustments to tailor it to her needs. Couldn’t be happier with their work. We have hired them to put in a handicap ramp also."

"Sentri Homes provided the most professional flooring service I’ve ever had. The LVP installation turned out absolutely beautiful, and I was amazed at how quickly everything was completed without sacrificing quality. The crew was fast, accurate, and extremely detail-oriented from start to finish. Everything was installed cleanly, precisely, and with real craftsmanship. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and far beyond what I expected. I would absolutely recommend Sentri Homes to anyone needing flooring installed."

"Kevin Martin and his crew of Amish builders did a marvelous job in construction of our 24’ x 32’ pole barn. We had to wait a few months for them to get started because they are very busy due to their excellent reputation. This is a good reason!"

"We worked with Platinum Home Remodeling after getting a new house. The property is an older one, needing much work, and the roof was of immediate concern. We explored options but it required replacement. After speaking with several potential vendors, we decided upon Platinum for the mix of fair, competitive pricing and the interactions with the company rep. Jesse, one of their team, was exceptionally responsive, sensitive to our situation, and he made the process a pleasure. I worked on the details as it moved forward and continued working with Jesse for the most part. The need for replacement was imminent, and timeliness was crucial to mitigate issues. We hadnâ t yet moved and lived out of state, but Jesse coordinated the work with me. He took care of everything. He did site visits beforehand to confirm some of my assumptions and pictures throughout the processes and after. His communication and engagement could not be better. Life would be much happier and easier if others were like him. Finally, the work is what I hoped for and is professional. The job was completed in a very timely way, for an expected amount, with quality assurance. Iâ ve worked personally with multiple vendors over the years, including in my role at work, and I believe Platinum excels well beyond what is typically expected or experienced."

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

If you can’t repair and repurpose your shed, it might be possible to sell it, donate it, or salvage parts rather than them just ending up in a landfill. Professional junk removal services will advise you on what can and will be recycled. You may also want to keep some parts to upcycle them for other projects around your home. Turning planks from your memory-filled wooden shed into a coffee table or bed headboard is good for the environment and the soul.

Technically, most states allow tiny homes, but it depends on the definition of tiny and whether the structure is permanent. Zoning laws regarding home size and construction are significant factors. For instance, a tiny home may be legal as a recreational vehicle in most areas, but you may only install it on a property if it complies with building and zoning codes.

You can use a variety of wood to build a barn door, but the most common options include 1-by boards and 2-by boards for the backing and the decorative boards on the front of the door. Softwoods like pine will save you some money and should hold up well, while hardwoods like maple and oak will stand up to more wear and tear. You could also build the backer out of plywood to minimize the cuts you need to make. Whatever you decide on, make sure the width of the wood is compatible with the mounting brackets you buy.

While a romantic getaway in a vacation treehouse may sound appealing, building one to live in year-round comes with more challenges. However, a growing number of people are adopting this small-scale living approach to appreciate an off-the-grid, private lifestyle. It allows you to feel closer to nature in a sustainable, customizable, minimalist, and eco-friendly way.

The lifespan of a barn is typically 40 to 60 years, but with skillful construction and proper maintenance, it can last up to 100 years. The actual lifespan depends on several factors, including the barn type, materials, usage, and climate. For example, the posts of a pole barn should last 50 years or longer, but if the structure is used for livestock in a rainy climate, it may rot within the first decade. Custom designs with high-end materials tend to last the longest. To get the best estimate for your barn's lifespan, you should consider its material type and intended use.
