"Mr. Workman did an excellent job on every project. He completed each task promptly and excellently. He was a dream to work with: great communication/response time and scheduling (even though I live nearly an hour away) He arrived as scheduled-two days before Christmas even-ready to get to work. He immediately corrected three projects done (sub-standardly) by the previous person I hired. Mr. Workman corrected poorly hung Roman shades on a picture window, replaced a ceiling fan, corrected an improperly installed TV mount, replaced a bathroom light fixture and faucet, and even fixed a broken utility light bulb stem above the stove, on his way out the door! Mr. Workman was friendly but professional, motivated and answered all of my questions. 10 out of 10 would recommend, and have already done so- (my brother is now interested in getting a quote on a job he needs done). I WILL be hiring him to complete anything and everything I need done."

"This job was to clean out the ash pit below the fireplace at my house. I don’t think they (2 guys) had experience with this type of fire box. However, that did not deter them. They investigated the structure, did research using their smartphones, worked in less than perfect conditions, to do the difficult job to my satisfaction."

"They were so professional and knowledgeable. My mom is handicapped and they checked in every step of the way and made adjustments to tailor it to her needs. Couldn’t be happier with their work. We have hired them to put in a handicap ramp also."

"Before contacting Steve, I had hired a different handyman. He laid part of my deck & didn t show for 3 days, so I wound up firing him. Steve provided a reasonable estimate, considering the circumstances and I hired him. He was prompt, professional and meticulous. He and his partner were excellent. I would definitely recommend them. 5-stars"

"Did a very nice job of updating our upstairs bathroom. Replaced the old tub with a new shower, new dry wall, new commode, new lights and painted the room. A very painless process. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a project to be completed."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, splicing wires can cause a fire if the splicing is done incorrectly. This is why splicing wires is a task best handled by electricians. One of the most common mistakes made when splicing wires is not using a wire connector. Without a wire connector, electricity flows unsheathed and can result in a home electrical fire.

Pellet stoves are safer than wood stoves in many ways. They don’t produce as many creosote deposits as wood stoves do, they create less smoke, and the flames are contained, decreasing the risk of any sparks or embers creating a house fire. Pellet stoves also burn more cleanly and efficiently than wood stoves do.

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

While adding fire sprinklers to your home, you may want to consider other fire prevention and protective measures. Get your smoke alarms and CO alarms inspected and replaced, if needed. Add fire doors to vulnerable areas of your home. Inspect or purchase fire extinguishers. For exterior protection, consider fire-smart landscaping practices .

Yes, you should seal and cap an unused chimney to protect it from damage. Sealing the structure helps prevent moisture damage, which can lead to issues like cracks, spalling, efflorescence, and damaged mortar joints. Capping the chimney is also crucial to prevent blockages, damage from invasive critters, and downdrafts, while still allowing for proper air ventilation to manage moisture. For the best results, consult a chimney professional to select the right type of chimney or flue cap for your home. It's also wise to continue with annual chimney inspections to maintain the structure's integrity.
