"In spite of numerous negative reviews about Move Quick, Inc., I opted to hire this company for my move from West Virginia to Los Angeles. I spoke to Phillip, the manager/owner, who convinced me that the posted complaints had been resolved and were exaggerations. However, I, too, was subjected to an exaggerated low bid in order to snag my business. I, too, experience problems with the pick up and the delivery dates. The movers were a day late in arriving, then quoted me a 67% increase in price, from $3,100 to $5,200. BUT I was stuck. The company already had my deposit money. Also, I was charged for one flight of stairs and an exaggerated inaccurate measurement of my front door to the truck. I had been told there was no fee for one flight. I had provided exact measurements for the items in my two rooms of furniture. True, I had 51 boxes instead of 40 but that did not warrant such an increase in price, 67% almost $2,000. Delivery was also problematic. I had told Move Quick, Inc. that I would be at my new home 25 days after the pick up, October 30, 2019. That should have been more than enough time for any truck to drive cross country. They made me wait until December 4, 2020, a total of 25 days to drive 2,400 miles. I made the drive solo in 5 days. Communication with the company once they have your money is near to impossible. It took threats and 6 days for Philip to respond. He then provided an insignificant $75 discount. My recommendation: go with a larger company than can provide an accurate estimate and deliver within a reasonable time. Also, use a company that uses the industry standard of moving cost based on the weight of your items. Don’t let Phillip tell you his method of charging based on volume is better. No one else does this, for a reason. Other estimates I had received were in the $3,700 range.I should have Booked Elsewhere!”"

More Information on Local Moves The time starts when the movers arrive at your loading location and continues until the work is completed at your final destination, and includes the time spent traveling between your various locations. The trip charge is added to account for the time spent getting out to you and back home again. We generally say that it takes one to one-and-an-half hours of moving time per fully furnished room. Remember that it may take a little longer if you live in a location with an elevator, multiple flights of stairs, or if there is a long walk from where the truck can park to your front door. Secure, climate-controlled storage Wardrobe cartons are available for your use on the day of the move for a rental charge. A wardrobe box is basically a portable closet. Your clothes are hung in the box from a metal bar. Each box holds 18" - 24" of clothes hanging on a bar in your closet, depending on the type of clothing. We carry a full line of packing supplies. The entire condo had been renovated over the past 4 months so everything was new. The movers put a hole in my wall and smashed the new thermostat off the wall. Damage to my furniture was extensive. Holes in the upholstery on the living room sofa, gouges in wood furniture. Dealing with the repairs were a nightmare. It's like they have a routine to avoid calls and they never receive an email. Good job Renee... I give up."
